staff was friendly and helpful in explaining how the hot pot menu works. the vegies were very fresh. we ordered the angus beef and it was great. we weren't crazy about the vegetarian broth as it didn't have much flavor but with the extras they give you to mix into your soup, you can kick the flavor up great place... Shabu-Zen is just a wonderful place; it's pretty reasonably priced and all the food is of good quality. I'd definitely recommend getting a split pot so you can get two types of broth More

Actually we never went the one in Chinatown, we always go to the one in Allston. But I guess they are same. We love it sooo much and we just keep going again and again! More

Went with colleagues, we were pleasantly surprised by the good quality beef, good and timely service. The various broths you could choose made it fun too. More

Went here for the first time last month, and it was really, really good. There are a lot of choices for meats, seafood, and even type of broth. I had the kimchi broth with the seafood combo and it was delicious and fresh. It was not very spicy for being kimchi flavored though, that's my only complaint. The service was... More

Shabu-zen continues to provide the combination of tasty broth, excellent sesame sauce and fine beef that creates true Japanese Shabu Shabu. Even the better Japanese restaurants in the area don't consistently offer this very special dish. Spend a little more for the best ingredients.Oishi des. Shabu-Zen also offers a lot of combinations for the hot pots (generally less expensive) which... More
