If you relish fine food with thoughtful wine pairings, Meritage is for you. The menu is arranged in sections by the type of wine that compliments it—check out their web site, very unusual. It is a concept that works well, especially when handled by a knowledgeable wait staff. Another unique feature is that you can order small or large plates... More

Part of the 5-star package at the Boston Harbor hotel was the 5-course dinner with wine pairings at each course. Ambience was romantic with great views of the harbor, service was impeccable and well timed, and the food was outstanding. A fine dining experience. More

Quiet, and overlooking the water. On the second floor of the Boston Harbour Hotel. Menu has food categorized by the type of wine that best matches it. Entrees are served as either large or small plates. We found a small plate to be quite adequate. Food was excellent, and service very good. More

The service was excellent, the dining room has changed since we last visited and is less warm and romantic. Lights too bright; Food is great for local New England ingredients’. Order small plates only, a three course meal is all you will need. More

The menu is unusual in that there are 2 prices , $17 for a small plate and around $34 for a large plate. This is the same whether you order vegetable risotto or duck or beef. The small plate is very small , more of a first course. The large risotto is still about average size. My husband is a... More

Service was very slow, it took forever to get anything ordered. The food was beautiful but bland, it was missing the pop of flavor that it should of had. The food presentation was good. Has potential but not quite there yet. My filet was over-cooked and the waiter never came to check how anything was. Needless to say I did... More

The large plates/small plates concept allows you to choose many different items to try which was great since it was difficult to choose from so many fantastic items on the menu. View across Boston harbor was great as well. The wine list is EXTENSIVE and is designed to pair with the items on the menu. More

We tend to visit Boston once a year; Meritage is always on our list of restaurants to visit, and we have never had an experience that's been less than excellent. Based in the Boston Harbor Hotel, Meritage has a number of window tables - ask for one. They can't be pre-booked, but we always ask on arrival, and if one... More

We had the five course dinner with wine parings - food, wine and service were all fantastic. The chef does a great job pairing food and wine - this is what they are known for at Meritage. The food portions were more than adequate, my only gripe is the amount of wine poured with each course was a little stingy... More

I sometimes eat late at night, and to be able to eat anything on this fabulous menu, as a small plate, is a huge advantage. The setting is beautiful, and a table with a view is a must. More
