Allston is off the beaten track but there are many small ethnic restaurants worth checking out. Fish Market is one of them. They serve in addition to traditional sushi and sashimi, lots of baked sushi dishes like "Rainbow Maki". I think the baked sushi dishes are what people come here for. Everything is fresh and nicely presented. This is has... More

This was the best sushi we have had in ages. Fresh, beautifully prepared and presented. No alcohol and you can't bring your own...but green tea is excellent with sushi and there are lots of bars to get a drink afterwards. Get the avocado appetizer special. Very special. Unfortunately the room is small, and the place is popular, and they don't... More

Outstanding sushi bar. Fish Market came highly recommended by several in-the-know chefs (and it lived up to the expectations). Great, friendly service in a completely unassuming spot. Three of us had lots of really good things artfully presented, but our favorites were the Toro with Tempura Flakes and the incredible Spicy Crispy Tuna Maki. Next time I'll sit at the... More

Having heard some good things about the background of the owner, we decided to try this place out on a weeknight. I have to say that although the fish is fresh, the sushi rice is terribly wrong. The rice is dry and not soft at all. I am a big rice person so it is really disappointing. I have never... More

Forget the pretenses this is a solid sushi restaurant in the Brighton area. Fish was super fresh. Appetizers were A+. Sushi excellent. Hand rolls very good. My only comment would be that the special rolls alittle smaller then other restaurants. Don't let that stop you though, service was excellent and friendly and the place is a little gem! More

I had never heard of this small sushi restaurant in the Allston/Brighton area of Boston but it truly is a gem! Only 5 tables or so, plus a sushi bar. This place has very high quality and innovative preparation of sashimi, nigiri, and rolls! The three of us weren't sure about what to order for lunch so we asked for... More

The sushi here was amazing. The space is small, and they do not serve alcohol, but the food makes everything worthwhile. Each dish was like a mini work of art for your eyes and your taste-buds. We started with the Avocado ball appetizer, also recommend in the Boston Globe, and it was spectacular! I highly suggest ordering it when you... More

This is, hands down, the best value for sushi in Boston. Dishes are creative, fresh and beautifully presented. The space is small and sparse, but if you sit at the counter, you can watch the two very stoic Japanese chefs prepare your sushi. Fish is extremely fresh. The baked scallop roll and the crispy spicy tuna are spectacular. Plus, they... More
