We thought it was just another bad tourist restaurant on the main drag - We were wrong! The locals were lined out of the door to get it. The place was packed on a week night. The dishes had a fabulous smoky flavor and were incredibly inexpensive! My teen son could barely finish a large noodle bowl while I had... More

This is one of our favorite local restaurant's and we take all our guests here. They all love it, especially people with food "issues"--there is something for every taste. It also has a fun atmosphere, good service and consistently good food. More

This place for the prices is the best for noodles. The cabbage rolls are awesome as well. More

This place is small & quaint, but wow what excellent food! We came in close to closing, however the staff took care of us. The food was out of this world good & I will certainly go back again!!! More

I ate here years ago and had one of those meals that you savor for years, always thinking, "I have to go back to Asheville, if only to go to Doc Chey's!" so, I'm finally back in Asheville and brought my 4 budding foodie kids to Doc Chey's for lunch. Between us we ordered Chicken coconut curry soup, pad Thai,... More

If you go on a Saturday evening, expect to wait 30 to 45 minutes but it's well worth the wait. The place is crowded and the pace is hectic but the food is fantastic. Everything is good so you can't go wrong. Once you're seated, service is prompt and pleasant and prices are wallet-friendly for such good food. Doc Chey's... More

Most downtown Asheville restaurants are closed on Monday, making it hard to find a place for dinner then. Doc Chey is open on Monday, closed on Wednesday. As the other reviews mention, the food is good, fresh and they served good sized portions. Unless you are ravenous, you don't need to order appetizers. More
