I can never tire of this place. Always so good and I love the daily specials and sides. One can get pork, beef or chicken bbq and their Brunswick Stew is my all time favorite. Even Greenlife has this soup on its soup bar!! Love the peanutbutter pie for dessert too. I can go on and on. Basically one should...

We had been hearing that we must try the BBQ while in Asheville. We have great BBQ in Texas, sometimes with a nice spicy kick. Luella's was tasteless, although the meat was tender. It was a big disappointment. I am glad I did not try Mexican food which was also recommended. :-)

Went at 2:30 on a Saturday afternoon and had to wauit for a table. It was well worth the wait. The barbequed brisket was scrumptious. My friend loved her pulled pork sandwich and collards. Seems like all the locals think it's the best. Couldn't agree more.

Quick service, good meal that made you feel like you were at home. Definitely will try it again! :-)

Seemed to be all locals inside. Hip, efficient, patient staff. Local brews, rib meat almost fell off the bone. Just the right amount of smoke flavor, delicious sauces to choose from on the table. Don't be fooled by the lack of garnish/presentation of your food in a little basket with paper. It's delicious!!!

Dry rubbed smoked pork ribs full of meaty taste you could pass on sauce, but why would you? The Pisgah sauce had me dipping my sweet potato chips as well as my fingers! Sides of fried okra, broccoli casserole, red potato salad, and cole slaw rounded out the meal. And server Amelie was perfect! Thank you for two great nights

Daily specials sounded great. First time here, I wanted everything. Finally tried an appetizer that gave you a Sampling of "3 Sliders". Beef, pork and chicken on a bun. Also ordered 4 sides with hush puppies. Broccoli casserole, collard greens, sweet potatoe chips, and mac'n'cheese. EVERYTHING was yummy!!! no room for dessert...I'll make a trip for dessert at a later...

I'm not a barbecue lover, but my wife was thrilled with her pork pull sandwich and key lime pie. She even threatened to order a second sandwich even though we had dinner reservations less than four hours later.

My wife and I saw advertisements and restaurant ratings while in Asheville that touted Luela's as rated number 2 in the city. While the BBQ was good, it wasn't anything that would make it stand out from other BBQ we've eaten in various parts of the country. Thus, the average rating.
Our server was friendly and outgoing and did a...
