We had been hearing that we must try the BBQ while in Asheville. We have great BBQ in Texas, sometimes with a nice spicy kick. Luella's was tasteless, although the meat was tender. It was a big disappointment. I am glad I did not try Mexican food which was also recommended. :-) More

Went at 2:30 on a Saturday afternoon and had to wauit for a table. It was well worth the wait. The barbequed brisket was scrumptious. My friend loved her pulled pork sandwich and collards. Seems like all the locals think it's the best. Couldn't agree more. More

Seemed to be all locals inside. Hip, efficient, patient staff. Local brews, rib meat almost fell off the bone. Just the right amount of smoke flavor, delicious sauces to choose from on the table. Don't be fooled by the lack of garnish/presentation of your food in a little basket with paper. It's delicious!!! More

Dry rubbed smoked pork ribs full of meaty taste you could pass on sauce, but why would you? The Pisgah sauce had me dipping my sweet potato chips as well as my fingers!
