We dropped in on a random weekday evening. The happy hour specials were $4 beers and $5 mojitos/margaritas. The food was okay, nothing outstanding, but still delicious. I have had the salmon and pork chop here. Italian-style dining and a wood-burning oven in the open kitchen near the dining room. For about $40-50 for 2 people, you can get your... More

This place is a little hard to find. Our taxi was unsure so we had a short backtrack...no big thing. Try their roasted meats. And pizza. They have a pizza oven that cooks such things to perfection. Very convivial. But, coolish inside in January - take a coat.

WOW! The cooking sherry won. Never had a drunk server before. Now that was different. Welcome to a cold concrete bunker. After drunk girl finally left for the nearest bar I assume, the rest of the staff tried very hard to make up for the cold pizza, overdressed heap of lettuce, 5 pieces of calamari and pasta. Mine was uber... More

This was one of the more disappointing and appalling dining experiences I have encountered. I am still a bit shocked and find myself struggling with the appropriate words and descriptions to capture our experience. My partner and I had a groupon and it was about to expire. I actually went to the restaurant early evening and asked the "woman," who... More

I can't speak to the quality of the food because twice this week, they "were full for the remainder of the evening" and they won't seat me. Yes, I am using my Groupon coupon and maybe that's why the host and hostess had such a "high-nose" pretentious attitude. I tried making a reservation for tomorrow evening, last day of the... More

Tried the restaurant. The Arugula salad was excellent and huge, so share it. The Steak was tough and not that flavorable. Quite forgettable. The beets were one of the highlights, and their roasted potatoes were flavorable. They were grossly understaffed that evening, and staff scampering around. It was a mediocre experience. With all of the other dining options in SF,... More

I moved to San Francisco over three years ago and one of the first restaurants I went to was Zuppa in SOMA. It was one of my favorite spots right away. I even threw a birthday party for my (now) fiance in the private loft area upstairs. But now the food and service is terribly inconsistent and the place is... More

We enjoyed our meal here. The service was just fine, the interior of the restaurant looks great. I ordered the margherita pizza and it was good. My husband ordered the pork ragu rigatone based on reviews from this site and it was very good. I thoroughly enjoyed my dark chocolate torte for dessert.

Unfortunately they have taken my favorite roasted chicken with nettle off the seasonal menu......but any free range chicken dish roasted in wood burning oven is just as finger-licking good.
