One of the top restaurants I have been to in the past few years! Everything was good! The food! The service! Price was not cheap, but was within reason! More

On a nice San Francisco afternoon my wife and I stopped for a beer in the sun and to watch the people. 2 hours later having been impressed with the staff, the people watching and having ordered some escargot we decided we would join the throngs of locals, leaving their cars with the parking valet, we decided to go inside!... Gnocchi was to die for--light, pillowy. Risotto, not so much. Our server, Oscar--from Morocco, was terrific. Generally a great experience! More

Every time we visit San Francisco we enjoy a dinner at North Beach. The food is beyond excellent and the service compliments the food. NOTE: This is a very expensive restaurant but worth every penny. This is not your "Family Italian Restaurant", better for romantic couples or a great business meal. You will not be disappointed. More

North Beach Restaurant has been a major player on the San Francisco Italian restaurant scene for over half a century. It is still one of the best. The food is fresh and skillfully prepared, the wine list is extensive, although a little expensive, and the service is delivered by a seasoned group of professional servers. Altogether, it adds up to... More

I truly felt that this restaurant was not the best Italian food to be found in San Francisco. The food was ok, but you will find better food at nearly every other restaurant in the area. Very pricy for the pedestrian quality of the food. More

Make a reservation, if possible. I noticed that people who walked in off the street got a so-so reception, yet all reservations seemed to be treated as returning heroes!! The food was outstanding - the kids pronounced the pasta as the best ever! It was homemade and the parents loved it, too. Risotto - veggie or just mushrooms - both... More

If you speak Italian, the owner will greet you, as if you just got off the plane in Rome. Great wine list & cuisine is impressive. Two of my favorite dishes: risotto with mushrooms & baby lobster tails served in butter sauce & a side of potatoes. The Tiramisu is to die for: creamy & decadent, like a special family... More
