Gone several times to Roae Pistola, enjoyed their brick oven cooked pizzas. Also had their steak which is very good. Nice place and some days they have a jazz group. More

I ordered the ravioli served with an orange/rosemary sauce and it was light - for ravioli- and delicious. More

I tend to be leery of Italian restaurants on Columbus Ave. but glad I tried Rose Pistola. It's just far enough off the tourist route that actual San Franciscans eat there. Real crispy, thin crust pizza and attentive wait staff. More

I searched many websites and boards looking for the best cioppino in San Fran and boy was I not disappointed. There were many options listed, but I chose this one b/c of it's varied menu my wife could order from. It's in North Beach area which is of course the Italian haven of SF. We started with the Beef Carpaccio... More

Fresho with open kitchen. I always want to go across town to Beretta or Delarosa but they are both so far away. My feet just always take me here. new menu every day...beautiful food, lovely staff....new menu each day. Pizzas are thin and stunningly good. This is one of San Francisco's finest. eat on the patio or a romantic booth... More

I'm usually a bit tenuous in enthusiasm when dining Italian, as it is one of the most difficult cuisines in its varying degrees of quality and "authenticism". Rose Pistola on Columbus Avenue in San Franciso is most definitely one I can say exceeds the mold of classic Itialiano! The atmosphere from the time you walk in is warm and inviting,... More

We had an amazing meal here during our vacation to San Francisco. A friend had recommended it to us and we're so glad he did! We started off sharing some cheese and salumi plates, coupled with a marvelous bottle of red wine! My husband and I had pasta dishes and our kids had the steak and pizza. Everything was delicious!... Wonderful Pizza. Chopped Salad with Blue Cheese Vinegariette was yummy, too. Roasted Artichoke Salad delicous. If you order pizza and want onions, know that they are caramelized and sweet. More
