Got there right before closing time and the clerk was accommodating. The olive loaf was perfectly crust & soft. Good to eat all by itself.

On day 2 of our trip we went to Tartine Bakery (see review). So on day 3, we walked down to the Ferry Bldg from Union Square, and had pain au chocolat and almond croissant from Acme Bread Co and a cup of Peet's coffee. Oh my, what a delightful way to start the day. The croissants were just the...

Truly incredible bread...great choices...all sizes. And amazing premade sandwiches! So creative and super delicious! Friendly staff. I always look around for a tip jar...there is none! Just great breads and great service!
Got there around 7 AM so there was no line which was nice. Girl at the counter took the time to explain to me two different types of bread. I got a loaf of their sourdough bread. It was good, but nothing extraordinary. It's bread. At a fair price in a touristy building.
This is the best bread in the world. I have traveled to other states and countries and I can not find any bread that can match the bread from Acme.
They have the bread in some higher end stores or you can go to the outlet store in Berkerely, CA
No need for butter just break off a piece and...

Go there early. The most popular bread sell out at around 2pm. My favorites are their green onion slabs, Pain de Mie and their specials. Last time I went there three weeks ago, they had roll with dry fruits. They were really delicious. Staff was really friendly.
If it aint ACME, it aint worth having! Best bread in the Bay Area. The crust is so tasty and good. I love to just hang out and smell the baking bread. Definitely worth seeking out. Demand that your local restaurant serve ACME bread.
I found this gem in the ferry building. It had a line for fresh baked bread. I enjoyed the sour dough.
Bought an Epi and they went back and brought it from the back. It was still warm, right out of the oven. Can't get any fresher with the finest ingredients as always. They even have a variety of dinner rolls!
