We came in for lunch, wanting to try this restaurant after seeing it on the Food Network. We both had sandwiches, the corned beef & the meatball. The servings were large & the corned beef was very flavorful & sliced thick, but nothing else came with it(slaw or krout). The most interesting part of the restaurant is the painted walls... More

We visited recently largely due to their Diners, Drive-ins and Dives feature.. Although the brisket, barbecue and pastrami were good they did not impress as anything exceptional. The sides seemed a it overpriced at $2.50 for cole slaw or what seemed commercial baked beans.. I was also abit surprised at the smallish portions served with the Pastrami.. Deli's in NYC... More

Looks funky and fun...but the best part is the food is good, old fashioned hearty and homestyle...just like mom used to make! Love their specials...especially the Terriyaki Ribs! More

This restaurant was on Diners, Drive-ins, and Drives, and I think they got cocky after that. The service is poor, the food is mediocre, and the neighborhood is a bit sketchy. The turkey was dry. The corned beef was good, but nothing special. The hot mustard on the table is unbelievably awful. The macaroni salad is bad. All in all,... More

The food was pretty good, I got the buffalo sandwich and my husband got the pastrami. We both enjoyed the food, but a homeless man came in and sat directly across from us, and none of the employees did anything about it, even though several saw him sitting down including our cocktail waitress. In fact, our waitress took our drink... More

We went there a couple of days ago and I have to say I am disappointed. The location itself has a lot of atmosphere and is pretty interesting. Unfortunately the food was poor. There are a lot of better choices in San Francisco. If you still go there avoid the home-made chilli and the chicken on rice. More

Classic beer bar, really great sandwiches, if you are not a veggie! A bit shoddy, a bit rough around the edges, but authentic, original, and a place I'll recommend and go back to. More
