We ate here for lunch after the Alcatraz tour and were all starving. My son and husband had the clam chowder bread bowl and loved it, I had the chili and it was delicious, the half sandwich I had with it was average, the cookies are delicious! Our lunch for 3 of us was $40! Ouch! Welcome to San Francisco!

I love their crab cake sandwich, it is totally killer! This is a great spot, smack in the middle of the wharf area and it's terrific for people watching. They have lots of gimmicky SF stuff, plus some totally fantastic sour dough bread. Give it a whirl if you need a quick bite

We enjoyed a drop-in visit to sample and buy some sourdough breads and a few sweets for a picnic we planned. Never got to the picnic but did enjoy the Boudin treats by the wharf.

We visited last time in San Fran and wanted to revisit for the bread.....really yummy lunch. We had a clam chowder and chilli in the bread bowls and they were great. You can sit outside in the sun and it just tastes really fresh. As a few others have said, service wasn't great for us either - but it was... More

OK sandwich was good and so was bread bowl for the clam chowder. All the shop items looked good as did the racks of bread. BUT two of the three staff we dealt with had too much attitude.in particular the first girl we dealt with was more interested in giggling with the boy standing next to her.

Okay it is on the wharf so do not expect the cuisine to be great. I had the garlic fries shock came with so much pepper oil on them besides the garlic they were inedible. My partner had the chicken club which made up for it. Given the number of places to eat on the wharf I don't think I... More

We love stopping at Boudin for the tomato soup in a bread bowl. It's always on our list of must-dos when we visit San Francisco. The real fun begins when you watch and interact with the bakers at the plate glass windows along the street. Our most recent visit showcased the little sea turtle shaped breads of baker Ana Romo.... Service is good and food is great! We were seated right away. It was not crowded because it was a weekday so they seated us near the window with the view. Almost perfect but they forgot to bring us one of our orders. It was ok because we were full but worth noting here. Make sure you follow-up. Will visit... More

The bread, soup, and sandwiches are the best and freshest food around. Highly recommended, especially when you need some healthy food after taking in all the fast food kiosks in the area for a few days.
