Description: Wexler's serves a delicious menu of New American BBQ in an intimate, rustic-chic spot situated in the city's Financial District. Using a California farm to table approach, Executive Chef Charlie Kleinman puts a tasty new spin on tradition by pulling inspiration from various regional BBQ styles and creating unique new dishes using California's bounty of fresh, artisanal ingredients. You will find smoked meats flavored with house made dry rubs alongside dishes driven by the freshest produce Chef Kleinman can find. From smoking our own chilies to making our own onion powder, Wexler's is committed to using and creating the best ingredients. A strong lineup of American beverages (American cocktails, beer, and wine) complement the flavors of the food.

The food was good but the tables are quite tiny and you can feel like you're on top of the diners next to you. More

I have been to Wexler's many times for lunch as it was close to work. This is one of my favorite places in the city overall. Food; outstanding. Their chicken wings are the best ever, and all their dishes are well flavored and well prepared. I have liked everything that I have tried. Service: Outstanding. They are small but once... More

I discovered this restaurant by accident about 3 months ago and have been back 4 times. Each time my dining experience excelled and exceeded my expectation. The recurring theme is that the food has smoke in the flavor, but this is not a barbecue shack, quite the contrary. Smoke it used subtly and inventively. The food is first class and... More

Stopped by just for the banana cream pie. Very tasty pie. Wanted to try the inside out root beer float too. More

My husband and I had high hopes for this place, but were mostly disappointed. The food was good, but nothing out of this world. The hostess was snooty, while the rest of the wait staff were incredibly kind and friendly, as were the bar staff. The food was a bit overpriced for the portions. I had a decent meal, but... More

All the praise on the foodie-only review sites is fully justified. I'm only going to say, quickly: (i) We expected a cheerful, standard barbecue joint -- and to have give up any hope of edible vegetables, other than potatoes. Instead we found unexpected but intelligent re-interpretations of barbecue classics a long way from gimmicky, and startlingly fresh vegetables, as in... More

Upscale BBQ, as seen on "American Eats" Small, But Fantastic (the space and the servings). We had the pork plate which was a very hefty serving of 24-hour-smoked pork loin (amazing, but you'll be tasting smoke for days), and a few bites of pulled shoulder (not the best I've ever had, but good enough that I was wishing for more).... Everything was deliciously prepared, and each dish that I tried was a unique combination of flavors--a real delight to the taste buds! This is definitely NOT one of your ordinary run-of-the-mill BBQ restaurants. More
