We've eaten at Tidepools numerous times, and the tropical ambiance is always great. Last year we noticed the food had gone up in quality - new chef. Again this year, really excellent menu and preparation. Pricey, but in line with other restaurants with similar menus and quality (e.g., Roy's). Ask for a table by the water and book ahead to... This was our favourite meal on our recent trip to the Hawaiian islands. The food here is really, really delicious. I had the monchong (catch of the day) and it was beautifully cooked and packed with flavour. To start I had the arugula salad which was so balanced - smoky duck, creamy feta, slightly sweet dressing, bitter leaves and crunchy... More

This restaurant is located in the lovely Hyatt hotel in Poipu. We ordered the Opah and the Seafood platter and were happy with our choice. Our server was really helpful and got the fish prepared for our spicier taste buds. The restaurant is close to the beach and is surrounded by an artificial lagoon. It has a very open feel... More

We arrived at 6:45 pm and were able to snag a table by the water. Great views, intimate restaurant. This restaurant is in the Grand Hyatt. They will validate your valet parking. Service was friendly and very attentive. Dishes were explained thoroughly. Refills of beverages was quick, efficient and unobtrusive. Food arrived hot and very well presented. They care how... More

I don't know if it had to do with the setting, but we were so please with everything at the Tidepools. The ambiance was terrific, and it was raining while we were there which just added to how romantic it all seemed. Our server was very knowledgeable and gave us very good recommendations. It was pricey, but well worth it.... More

An excellent place for dinner. The service was spot on. Outstanding are the lump crab cakes, seafood soup and various fish/seafood principle plates. Of all the dinng options in Kauai, this easily should be one of your top choice.

I have read many reviews on Tidepools located in the Grand Hyatt Kauai and it is an excellent place for dinner. The service was laid back and yet attentive. Outstanding are the lump crab cakes, seafood soup and various fish/seafood principle plates. The prime rib though choice grade is also good. The food is pricey but it is expected with... More

A bit pricey for o.k. food. Not a large menu so staying at the resort and eating in the restaurant got a little boring. The ambiance is good. Would recommend for a night.

We stayed at the Grand Hyatt and were married on the beach in front, so we chose Tidepools for our wedding night dinner for the convenience and reviews. The food and service were good, but there wasn't one specific thing that was memorable (other than having just been married!). Our dessert was comped since we were just married which was... More

We've eaten here in the past and recall our previous experiences to have been better overall. The food was very good. I had their Hawaiin special dish featuring three seafood specialities. The service wasn't bad just not great as compared to better experiences earlier in the week from Red Salt, Hukilau Lanai & Brenneckes. Plus it cost twice ad much... More
