You have to plan to go to Marks. The place is hidden in an industrial park nearby a local neighborhood. It's very simple, you order and either take away or take a seat on the picnic benches they have out front. The spectacular food is what get's Mark's in the list of top restaurants on TripAdvisor for Lihue. The teriyaki... More

I tried Mark's Place while on Kauai for vacation. Kept going back while we were there. The combination plate is a lot of tasty food at a reasonable price. It is off the beaten path, but worth finding!

An absolutely great place for local cuisine! The food is great, the service is friendly, and the prices are reasonable (especially for Kauai)! What's not to love! Highly recommended!

I was entertaining mostly mainland guests at a get together & needed some sushi when a friend suggested Mark's Place in the Puhi Industrial Center. I had no idea what kind or how much I should buy, so I asked a lot of questions when I got there. The staff was so nice, helped me figure out what I should... More

This very 'local' market is in the industrial area of Lihue. Only open on weekdays. The food is only OK but plentiful. It is best to call ahead about 10 - 15 minutes ahead. There is limited outside, communal picnic tables. No inside seating. Try the chicken katsu or loco moko.

Be sure to stop by Mark's Place right off the plane (or right before you go to the airport on your way home from Kauai). My girlfriend and I stopped at this place for lunch right after landing at Lihue at noon (from LAX). It's a little hard to find so that's why I suggest that you put it into... More

Plate lunches to go, maybe notched up a bit. I loved mine and would give it a five. My husband ordered the same thing and would give it a three. So I guess we can average a four. We do agree one is big enough to share. (They take charge cards, which not a given in Kauai at all)..

Great local fare, excellent place for lunch, and worth waiting in line for. Eat where the locals, especially area workers, get their lunch.

Great food! Resonable price! You can eat outside or take it with you. There is no inside dinning. The portions are large enought for two to share lunch.

By the time we were picked up from the airport, our in-laws already picked us up an order to go. It's still good even though it was not hot. The chicken katsu was still tender and delish! What a landmark place! A must go if you're looking for food that's reasonably priced.
