Lava Rock is easy to find, we got immediate seating, and had fine, friendly service. We went there for lunch, and the portions were big. Our waitress took a to go order and produced it in timely fashion. We always have fun here. Full bar!

Not many food options in this community, but this is worth it. We ate 2 meals there. The first, for dinner, we ordered chef salads. We agreed they were the best chef salads we'd eaten anywhere in the U.S. Because they use fresh ingredients, it makes all the difference. We also enjoyed breakfast their and it was very good too....

We had hamburger and it was ok.... Not too costly considering not much options in the Volcano area. We had good service. The set up Is more like a garage affair than a restaurant
The food was very good and great value for money, everything in Volcano seems to close fairly early, so do not leave it too late to eat

This restaurant is next to the gas station in Volcano, and looks unassuming from the outside. The staff we all very pleasant, there was a mix of locals and tourists, and the food was great. Affordable too, even with dessert. Oh, desserts are all handmade and awesome! We had a slice of pumpkin crunch pie: think your grandma's best homemade...

can you say "world class dining"?shorts, flip-flops or dressy, as you like it. no reservations, be prepared to wait 1-1 1/2 hour on Fri. or Sat. night. locals come from 40 miles or more just to dine on the incredibly delicious food. call ahead, make tha reservation. you will not be disappointed (rome, paris, hong kong, sydney...this place is better)..
The grass fed 1/2 lb hamburger platter was very flavorful. Came with rice, gravy, and a side. I had the side salad with passion fruit vinegarette. Large meal for $10.50. After a day hiking thru craters in the Hawaiian Volcano Natl Park it was a welcomeing hot meal. Excellent friendly service. Decor was ok, nice enough. Would go back. Several...

We hate eating at fancy restaurants with high prices so we tried Lava Rock Cafe. It has a very local feel to it, not fancy by any means! I had the mahi mahi plate lunch and it was good with a nice grilled taste to it. I even went back a second day and had the same thing. The service...

We love to have an excuse to go to the Lava Rock. The menu is great, portions are Hawaiian-size, and service is prompt and friendly. The food is delicious. While there, you can have a meal, fill up with gas, check the quilting store in back, and pick up a supply of coconut bars at the convenience store in front....
