Located in Waimea - it's about a 20 minute drive from the resorts of Kohala. The drive is definitely worth it. Omlettes come with hash brown potatoes and a side of toast or pancakes (which for an upcharge can be the special pancakes of the day). They also have Japanese breakfast - which seemed quite popular - we weren't feeling... More

This was a great spot that we found for our last breakfast on the big island. Sad that we found it the last day! Great pricing that you dont find in Waikaloa area and local grinds that is authentic. The spot felt local with tourist and locals dining. We had the corn beef hash, portugese sausage, chicken fried steak and... More

The food here saved this place. The portions are generous (especially the pancakes!), and the food is delicious. The servers, however, need better training. We waited 15 minutes to be served after sitting down. The waitress was clueless on how to serve customers in an efficient and courteous way. She moved at a snails pace, and seemed oblivious to the... Needed a place to eat out with my brother who lives on the Big Island in Waimea. We heard of Hawaiian Style Cafe from other relatives who drove here every morning from the Hilton for breakfast. They're crowded all morning and close at Noon. It's just breakfast stuff. I ordered a special: pork fried rice omelette. It came with hash... More

We had heard so much about the cafe that we decided to go on our last morning on the island. The restaurant is more like a diner. Upon entering, there is a large lunch counter area which probably can seat about 20 people. There is also table seating available although it's much quicker to eat at the counter. The breakfast... I brought a large convention to the Mauna Lani last week. I told attendees that the real Hawaii can be found at Hawaiian Style Cafe. They loved it. The food is tasty at very reasonable prices. Servers are friendly and helpful. I suggest splitting an entree as portions are enormous. Order a side dish to avoid the split charge. No... More

This place serves the best food for the price you pay! There pancakes are just as large as the platter it comes on. It's a shame that there Hilo location cannot pull them selves together and be like there Kamuela counterparts...

If that was a three egg omelet, that must have been one BIG chicken. Worth the wait. One in our party (not a breakfast fan) ordered the pork chops. They came out under cooked, twice, but the wait staff immediately took them off the bill. A good recovery.

If you're looking for unique and adventurous on the Hawaiian food front, this place qualifies. It's a true local favorite and well worth the visit. Pancakes the size of your car and gravy and eggs for days. Make sure you bring you appetite because you'll need it. If you leave leave hungry, it's by choice. Well worth the stop.
