The food is great and the price is right. Photos on the walls is like a who's who's of the old west, good guys and bad. The Virginian is closed on Sunday, but they have great bar food.

The All You Can Eat Friday Fish Special leaves much to be desired. The fish was mediocre and greasy. The breading was not cooked thoroughly. However, the scallops special was done to perfection. No where, including Seattle, have I ever tasted scallops so tender and perfectly cooked.
Part of the historic Occidental Hotel (which is a cool place to visit or stay) in downtown Buffalo, the Virginian is the place that you will remember. The steaks were perfect, most of the sauces made fresh each day, the bar is like stepping back in time with live music on Thursdays. Although the food is always unbeatable, the service...

This restaurant was in a great setting and very hospitable. I was in a group of 11 people and we all had excellent meals. The service was also very good with friendly knowledgeable staff.
Next to, and owned by the Occidental Hotel (which you MUST visit), this restaurant is filled with beautiful and elegant, 19th Century antiques. They offer fine dining from romantic tables for two to banquet arrangements for ten or more. We’ve eaten there twice and loved each visit. You’ll feel like Buffalo Bill Cody, Wyatt Earp, Owen Whistler or John Wayne...

The Virginian is an excellent value, atmosphere is unmatched. We had a cozy table for two which had a window onto the main street in town, lace curtains, very romantic. I would not bring the kids. The food is very reasonable for fine dining. The evening special was a delicious pork chop for only $16.
Our waitress and the chef went out of their way to fix things like we wanted; we are picky for medical reasons.
In Buffalo, Wyoming, my husband and I had a well-prepared and well-served dinner at The Virginian Restaurant. We were seated in a private, window alcove surrounded by antiques and the atmosphere made a great meal all the more enjoyable.
We stayed in Buffalo 3 nights and dined in this restaurant 2 nights. Both meals were absolutely the best. We had elk tenderloin, duck breast and beef steak. The elk tenderloin was cooked to perfection as was the duck and steak. The service is impeccable as well.
We booked a reservation at the Virginian over 6 months in advance when we booked our reservations at the Occidental Hotel next door. We were a group of 10 friends on a road trip and this was the nicest restaurant we had eaten in all week. The food was excellent and we all enjoyed the antique furniture and the old...
