If Chef Tom has it as his special, you will not go wrong! Beautiful Lake Thompson Sunsets and just look out the windows to see the deer.

The Three Coins Restaurant has been a Rhinelander mainstay for many years. Situated in a beautiful forest setting the attractive dining room offers good food to complement the sylvan setting. Since Chef Tom came on board several years back food has been consistently tasty. I have dined at Three Coins for midweek meals, special event celebrations (two New Year's Eve...

Relax and enjoy the drinks and the food. This is the place to have a nice upscale fish fry. 3 coins has a very nice buffet for a fish fry so you just don't get the same old things. Drinks are good and strong beer is cold.
We were interested in Holiday Acres because of the option of Sunday brunch. We drove to the restaurant---a very curvy, twisty, icy drive in the winter---only to find out that the brunch wasn't offered and it was family style breakfast instead ($10.95 per person) The food wasn't bad, it was obvious that it was homemade. However, we didn't really get...

Nestled in scenic pines Holiday Acres and the three coins restaurant are definately worth experiencing. Food and service are usually above average and there is no rush to turn over your table so dining is leisurly and unstressful.
The printed menu has many eclectic entrees (for Rhinelander area) and the Friday night buffet is consistently good, but the fish that is flown in fresh from the Pacific is consistently awesome when Chef Tom does his thing with it! We hope to get regular emails when fresh fish arrives during the summer weeks, so we can be quick to...

To my knowledge the Holiday Acres have the best Sunday brunch in town. However I would have to say it was pretty average. While there is PLENTY of food, it isn't the highest of quality.
I went there with my husband on a Wed night for dinner. We were the first diners there. I ordered the seafood stuffed portabella and it was horrible! What made it even worse was that it was really expensive (at least for Rhinelander; it was almost $30). First, it had a really, really strong unpleasant odor, which should've been a...

I had many meals there during my 4-day stay, breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and every one of them was delicious! The ambience was very nice - like a log cabin resort - and the bar was great. They have live jazz there on Mother's Day and Thanksgiving - and back in their hayday, hosted greats like Maynard Ferguson!
Chef Tom creates marvelous food. The elk is out of this world. The catch of the day on the night we dines was sea bass and it was fresh. Great wine selection aned lovely atmosphere. Kim and Kari Zambon are great hosts.
