The rumors and reviews are correct, this place is fantastic provided you're open to trying new or unfamiliar things. Worth the drive or allotting a vacation day or two for if you happen to be in the Seattle or Vancouver area.

It was timed to the sunset. Beautiful presentation and tasty food. I really enjoyed the home-smoked salmon. True art in the presentation. The service could have been a bit slower to begin (seemed a bit rushed). Our evening was mostly fish - great for me but not for carnivores like my husband!

Three of us liked it and tried everything. One person did not like what they were serving and only would try 3 items. For what he got of course it was very expensive. There is no other place to eat

With only 30 restaurant seats, dining there takes serious planning --- often a plane ride, a two-hour drive, and a short car ferry trip....

The restaurant takes a while to get to if one is not already staying at the Inn, but the journey is worth it! Each course had its own taste and the freshness jumped out of the plate. The waiters were attentive, and having the chef come out to speak with each table individually was a great touch!

The magic of or February trip started with the short ferry ride from the mainland to Lummi Island. As the tiny 20-car open deck Whatcom Chief ferry turned into the wind, driving rain and white caps, waves broke over the bow spraying our car with brine. After a few minutes Lummi Island appeared out of the mist.
The historic Willows...
