Description: This high-energy bistro took over as Williamsburg's best restaurant as soon as it opened in 2004. The sophisticated but relaxed dining room sports a long bar down one side -- a favorite local watering hole -- and an open kitchen which uses fresh local and other ingredients for its creative American fare.

Fat Canary would be fine dining anywhere, but perfectly extraordinary in a tourist mecca like Williamsburg. Except for the out-of-proportion Manhattan pricing, given where it actually is. So go prepared for a terrific meal, but expect to pay dearly. More

We booked this as an alternative to the historic inn fare we were getting the other nights of our visit to Colonial Williamsburg. We wished we had eaten here 2 of 3 nights, if not 3 of 3. The food is that good. This is a food destination. Go to the Kings Arms for the experience, then come here for... More

This place is impossible to get into, but the reviews are so wonderful we wanted to try it. We made reservations the night before. Judging by the the outside seating, we assumed it was a casual, family restaurant (yes, I usually research restaurants) We realized upon entering that it is a rather formal restaurant and not really for kids (no... The food is wonderful, interesting, very well prepared. Unfortunately, you must book months ahead or you just cannot get a reservation More

We had reservations for a Sunday evening. I probably booked several weeks ahead, but don't recall. It had been some time since I had visited Williamsburg, so if I had eatten here, I don't recall. We went for dinner. My friend loved her food. She loved the pork chops, and the soup and spoke about it for several days. That's... More

I've never had a bad meal here. The food, although pricey is worth the money. Typically you need reservations as the restaurant is not large, although you can eat an enjoyable meal at the bar. After your meal - step outside and stroll the colonial area which is one block away More

Went for an anniversary; our menu was personalized with our names. Food was outstanding; not cheap, but, well worth the price. We both had fish, and, it was impeccable. Hope to go again. More

We were lucky enough to get a comfortable seat at the bar for an early dinner on a busy Friday last week. Wonderful eclectic menu. Highly recommended. More
