When you are in Colonial Williamsburg and don't want to fork over alot of money for an "official" restaurant, head over to The Cheese Shop. Although extremely crowded at lunch time(go in the evening and it is empty), the sandwiches are delicious. (Remember you place your order at the very back of the shop, pick up your sandwich there and... More

Easy and quick and good lunch in Colonial Williamsburg. We called ahead to place our order and it was waiting for us when we arrived. Good sandwiches. More

With a European flare to it. I found this shops lovely with a huge choice of oils, appetizers, etc to buy. I was fooled by this and thought e food would be great, but it is just ok at best. So go, check around, buy some stuff t bring home but I would not eat there again. More

Sitting outside on a lovely spring day, eating a wonderfully tasty sandwich is a great experience, especially if you have an out of town visitor who wants to see Duke of Gloucester street. More

My friend and I were in a hurry and saw the sign for two people to share a cheese plate. We selected 3 different cheeses and noted that the sign suggested different breads, pairings of wine, etc. Our fault was that we neglected to read the fine print.. the bottom line was that ONE plate with 4 slices of cheese, a... A quaint and complete cheese, wine and sandwich shoppe in the center of Market Square in Colonial Williamsburg. Great for lunch outside or just pick up some nice gourmet delicacies. More

Love this place! This is a must stop! Order a cheese tray and purchase a bottle of wine from the cellar downstairs. They will provide the glasses. Then grab a patio seat outside and if you're lucky you might just catch one of the local street performers! A fave is Griffs Room Band! The band is great you can catch... More

This place was the go-to for food for my son during his graduate experience. We saw why when we attended his graduation. The staff were very kind and friendly--the food was excellent! More

These people have it figured out. Their sandwiches are the best in a town that actually is somewhat notable for its sandwiches, and it takes long enough to order them that one has ample time to wander all over the gourmet store part and find all sorts of other goodies to purchase. Their lack of covered seating has been a... More

I was recently in Williamsburg for the week and looked for some of the best places to eat in the area. We stopped at the Cheese Shop only because it was a top reviewed restaurant in the area. All 4 of us who were at lunch expected a great sandwich, the place was PACKED and all you read about on... More
