The atmosphere is cozy, and the food is exquisite! The Tomato Basil Soup is the best I've ever tasted. The lamb was perfectly cooked, and the chicken was amazing. Don't miss this superb dining experience! Reservations are highly recommended.

Loved the Decor and History of the on site Restaurant. It was the main kitchen for the Manor. Craig was fun and informative. A bit pricey at $100 for Halibut and Chicken Roulade (Entree only) Salad priced seperately and one glass each of wine and beer. Food was overcooked. I would stick with the onsite Powhatan Bar and Grille next...

Because this place only has 7 tables, a reservation is highly advisable. Our host, server, waiter, bartender was Craig and he did a great job interacting with the customers. He may even be a part owner - not sure. We loved the Pewter goblets and even found some at a gift shop and bought a set for ourselves to bring...

Only seven tables, so reservations are a must. The manager, Craig was extremely attentive and friendly. I had the quail appetizer, and the NY Strip with Lump Crab Meat and Shrimp. My wife had the smoked oysters and Braised Short ribs. We both had the homemade strawberry sorbet. The great atmosphere was only surpassed by the food. Will be returning...

Loved this personalized dining experience at the Thursday night Wine Dinner. A short walk from the parking lot, past the manor house, towards the separate kitchen location now the restaurant that holds perhaps a max of 20 or so people. The dinner featured a satisfying dinner, no surprises but very enjoyable nonetheless. The creamy peanut soup ( can't leave Virginia...

Walked from my room to celebrate Valentine's a day late. The lobster soup was outsanding, ordered the pork shank, and seafood special. Both dishes were well prepared and excellent. The fireplace was warm and inviting. The wine special was also enjoyable. The chef is always funny and engaging.
My husband and I had dinner here and absolutely loved it. It has such a unique atmosphere-it is a renovated kitchen from a colonial manor house. Very intimate, historical and lovely. The wait staff is amazingly attentive but also leaves you time to yourself to enjoy talking. Also the chef came out and talked to us a bit which was...

We have visited the Kitchen for both regular dinner service and a wine dinner and had great experiences at both. The wine dinner is a great way to enjoy a high-end dinner and try several different wines; the comments by the coordinator are helpful but not intrusive. Regular dinner service is intimate; the dining staff are willing to make accomodations...

We had dinner here and the food was fantastic. We had the lamb rack and beef brisket. Both were superb. Much better than all the American places we have been to do far. Would be great for people wanting a high quality place for dinner. The price wasn't cheap for the USA but great for us Australians!
I certainly would...

My wife and I went to the Kitchen at Powhatan Plantation for New Year's dinner. The atmosphere is great, the food very good, and the service very attentive. They had vegetarian options, and the serving sizes were surprisingly large. The staff were very helpful, though they were on the backfoot from one of their regular staff out with the flu....
