We had a group of 13 show up for a birthday dinner and Jacob and his servers did an excellent job accommodating the group. The food and serves were excellent and we sincerely appreciate all the hard work to make this a great celebration.

Went there for dinner, the staff was very friendly. We ordered steak and the fish special. The prime rib was cooked correctly but the fingerling potatoes, spinach and tomatoes cold. I would expect the sides to be warm in any Restraunt. Very disappointing.
Fabulous food, casual atmosphere where you can show up in hiking clothes or your Sunday clothes, friendly servers and a nice view of the grill area. We showed up without a reservation on a Tues night with no problems - but the place is small, so you may want to call ahead on weekends
It was a beautiful day and we had lunch out on the deck. I had the turkey and brie and it was very tasty. Be sure to get the side salad. Very fresh!
This tiny but charming restaurant was very good. My filet mignon was beautifully cooked, though e Caesar salad needed a bit more dressing. Service was great despite a very busy night.
Delicious scallops and wine. The restaurant is charming and easy to walk to if you're staying in the area. Service was very good. The only downside is that the restaurant closes early by "city standards".
The place was packed when we arrived (even though we had reservations) but we didn't mind waiting as that told us the food must be really good. Our waitress,Lakota, did an excellent job of recommending different items on the menu and serving our dinner. The manager, Jacob, came over and apologized for us having to wait and took the time...

Quiet, relaxing, casual atmosphere. Good food. Soup and lamb chops was a winning combo; good beer selection as well.
Sperryville is a quaint pastoral community not too far from Washington, DC. There are a limited number of restaurants but I always enjoy the opportunity to visit Thornton River Grille when I am in town. Their menu is interesting and the food is really excellent. Portions are beyond reasonable. We visited recently for brunch and enjoyed every minute. Get reservations...

The atmosphere (country casual, without checkered tablecloths), menu and service were outstanding...if they have the pecan tart with vanilla ice cream, do yourself a favor and order two! Would definitely return!
