We dine here often. Quite a nice variety on the menu beyond the usual Tex-Mex fare. But if you want fajitas, buttitos, tacos, etc., those are available. The center of the large room can be noisy (large parties end up there), so try to get one of the booths.

Mother's Day I picked this restaurant for my special day, after reading the reviews. Well it was a good choice, we called ahead for seating. My family loved the festive feel, and for Mother's Day the restaurant gave cards and enclosed was a card for a free entree with the purchase of one. NICE! What better way to entice another... More

Stopped in without expectation and left wondering whether I have had better Mexican food from a chain. The answer is "no". The menu is varied and large and the food was prepared very well.

Our family first discovered Abuelo's in Myrtle Beach a few years back. We've since eaten at locations in several states and have yet to be disappointed by either the food or the service. The recipes reflect more traditional, authentic dishes from Mexico that are quite different from the traditional Tex-Mex I am used to growing up in Texas (this is... More

During the day today we drove the length of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the whole range prettily decorated with pink dogwood trees in full-throated bloom, en route to Roanoke. Tonight we dined at Abuelo's, located (with representatives from virtually every national 'fine casual' chain.) I had a combination enchilada dish and my companion had a carnita taco plate - both... The menu offered more variety than you typically see at the average Mexican restaurant. Portion sizes were large and everything tasted delicious. We had a group of 25 so we called ahead and they had the table set for us when we arrived. Recommended.

Very good food. At first I thought it would be like a Moes or salsaritas or chipotle. However it's an actual Mexican place. The food is very good and the portions are nice size. You get your money's worth and if you leave hungry you didn't do something right. The drinks are great as well. They have a salsa bar... More

After searching several restaurants in the area and not finding anything but 1 hour waits, I found Abuelo's. This was a great find! Food was great and fresh and the atmosphere is great! Prices are a little high for Mexican food. But, overall, I would return to this restaurant.

Never have been a fan of Mexican food but others in our party wanted to go here, I am a believer in some Mexican food now. It was great! Plenty of it. The staff was on top of everything , fast , hot and replenishing with the drinks. Spices just right. Sauces they serve with the chips at your table... More
