My wife & I went on Saturday. Food was super: soup, salad, vegetables, rice, & shrimp. Portions, of the main entrée, are very small. 2, for lunch on a Saturday, was $28. For the amount of food we got, that was way too much. I've eaten Japanese, in NC, for $8-$9 a plate & got considerably more food. The food... More

If you're looking for an "exciting" dining experience, any one of the Kyoto Japanese Steak Houses will offer the spectacle. And the Harrisonburg restaurant is right up there with the best of them.

They take your order then bring the food to the table to be cooked. the chef puts on a show as he prepares your meal. The kids, adults too, always like the flaming onion volcano. Good to get reservations for a lrger group to reserve your own table.

Typical Japanese steakhouse, good food, cooked right in front of you which is always a plus. The staff is friendly and the food is always tasty.

As far as Japanese steakhouses go, this one was a little below what we normally enjoy. Was it bad? No. It just was a little lacking. Of course this restaurant was is in the Shenandoah Valley, so it was nice to find it after a long day of driving.

The food is great! I love that the staff cooks the food in front of you. It was a great experience. I would defintly go there again. The atmosphere is very nice. The food is expensive but it's worth it!

We visited early on a Thursday evening. They were not real busy at 4:00 so we were seat at a grill with only our party of 5. We were met by our server quickly. We placed our orders and were served soup and salad at once. The chef was right behind that. He was friendly and chatted during his "show"... More

I heard it depends on who you get for your cook / server but the one time I went it was very entertaining. If you're looking for some entertainment with your dinner this is a good place to go. Way better than Flaming Wok in Charlottesville.

One of the family's favorites but not often visited because of the cost for a family of 7. If you get the right chef can be a very enjoyable experience. Service is pretty good. A fun, now and then treat.

Probably the worst sushi we've ever had. The steak house was jam-packed so we opted for sushi. As an example, you have to request wasabi and ginger with your sushi. Aren't these customary sides? The sushi itself took over an hour to prepare and we ended up leaving due to time.
