It is now closed and up for sale. We have dined in the Millbrook many times over a span of 12 years, and it has always been great. Very sorry to hear of Chef Thom's death. All best wishes to his surviving spouse, co-owner Joan. We hope it works out well for Joan.

For us, this is the best place in "the Valley," and a great value. Main courses are $15-$22 and include a salad, a choice of potatoes, rice, or homemade noodles, and a vegetable. The wine list is well chosen and well priced, and reflects' the owners' travels around the world. We recently had the 5-peppercorn beef and one of the...

We happened into this wonderful place when we couldn't get in to the Common Man, a restaurant nearby that we've been to and liked a lot. This place had a meal that was at least as good, and in many ways the whole experience was much better. You'll never find a friendlier place than the Millbrook and the atmosphere is...

You will not find a more charming, friendly and nicer to place to have dinner than the Millbrook. Ambience aside, they offer just the right amount of menu choices, wonderful specials, thoughtful wine list (reasonable too) and outstanding service. Be sure you give this gem a try next time you're in the valley. Leave room for dessert. I felt as...

As second home owners in the Mad River Valley for over 15 years, we've have the opportunity to enjoy both the fine dining experience and hospitality offered at Millbrook on many occcasions. We have seen, first hand, how Thom and Joan literally spend hours in their kitchen preparing handcrafted (literally, homemade) meals for the enjoyment of their guests; and the...

There's lots of good eating in the Mad River Valley, so it's hard to pick the best. The Millbrook is the One! We had carefully prepared veal and fish, both imaginatively done. Good wine list, with selections that the owners selected from their travels. It was a slow night, so we got to meet Joan, Thom, and Barney the dog,...

My wife and I have stayed at Millbrook Inn at least 8 times during the last 4+ years. Most recently we had a wonderful evening meal and lodging for one night during a brief trip to Vermont. The Inn is conveniently located on the road to the Mad River slopes and features a fine dining room with meals prepared by...

This is the kind of place Vermont is supposed to be about and a really good value. It's just down the road from Mad River Glen and a few more minutes from Sugarbush (where we skied) but in a quiet spot by a brook. Guest rooms are country comfortable (private baths) and there are some nice common spaces, but the...
