The good: The owner greeted us and made us feel welcome, which was much appreciated. Waitress was very nice. Crab appetizer and hush puppies were yummy. The banana dessert was absolutely delicious. Not so good: I was not told my dish had pork in it. I didn't realize there was pork in the dish until after I started eating the... More

The Gumbeaux was extraordinary, and my wife's grilled oysters also first rate,  The Seafood Étouffée and hush puppies had us believing we were back in New Orleans.  Could easily give Ladniappe a full five stars if it wasn't for couple at next table with two young kids, one of whom was watching Thomas the Train on dad's iPad at max... Definitely one of the best Cajun/Creole experiences I've had. The ambience is warm and relaxing. The owner, Frank, came over and checked in on us, joked around, but without being overbearing. We started with the gumbo, which was delicious. Then the server brought over some warm, complimentary hush puppies. My fiance had the fried catfish while I enjoyed an étouffée... More

My husband and I stayed at the Ten Acres Lodge a few year prior and we remembered the breakfast being amazing, so we thought we'd go back and try the new restaurant there, now run by the owners of the Inn. The server was very pleasant and attentive and loved to talk to the patrons, which we appreciated since we... More

The quality of the food and the special New Orleans cuisine is a welcome addition to the Stowe area. Food is excellant. However, service is a bit slow, they need to hire more wait staff. The waitress valiently must serve too many tables and also act as the busboy. While this may slow down your dinner, this is not necessarily... More

We went on February 15th. The atmosphere was very comfortable. Like eating in the dining room of a dear friend. The service was wonderful and the waitress was knowledgeable about all of the menu items. When we would have ordered hushpuppies, the waitress told us that all meals are served with them as they are a little something extra( which... More

We visited this place as it was ranked number one on trip advisor, and it really was a good meal. It's not fancy, but very relaxed. It's in a lovely setting, and the front room which you walk through to get to the dining room is fascinating - great big fireplace, loads of books, really beautiful. Food wasn't overly spicy,... We booked this for New Year's Eve and were very nervous, despite the good reviews. We had the most fascinating New Orleans meal and a couple of "Hurricanes" that almost knocked us sideways. Lovely front room is book-filled and has a fireplace (get a table here). Owners are in charge, so it feels like being fed by family. If you... More

Girlfriend and I are avid snowboarders, visiting Stowe for the week. Looked up dinner spots on Tripadvisor and this was at the top of the list, so we decided to give it a try. The high remarks are well deserved as we gluttonously devoured every morsel on our plates. We had the pineapple salad to start, with the shrimp jambalaya... More
