The food here is out of this world. One reason why I've been back so many times is because of the outstanding food. The menu changes, and I have yet to be disappointed with my selection. I've tried new things and I've loved everything. Trust me, you will be going back for more once you have the food. Outstanding. More

I wish so badly I could give this restaurant a good review. I have stayed at the Essex Resort many times and this was the first time we went with family and thought what a wonderful time to try the Resort raved Restaurant (on-site). We went for dinner, and were told that they were quite busy in advance when we... More

We were disappointed the last two times we visited the restaurant. The noise is very loud in the restaurant since they moved it within the Inn. The food is disappointing too; they have taken a few things off the menu and other people commented on this as well. The service is very good and the servers also commented on the... More

The dining room is attractive with dimmed lighting and a long curvy bar. We were seated right away on a Tuesday evening around 6pm. The buffalo wings are good but very hot. The Red Hen bread was delicious with a maple butter spread. We got the mushroom paninni, the shrimp and pasta special, and the venison chili -- all were... More

The food at the Tavern was excellent! As a part of The Essex Culinary Spa and Resort, the chef's are top-notch and the quality of the ingredients was great. I had a chicken breast dish that used free-range chicken from Misty Knoll Farms right in Vermont. It was the best chicken I have ever had-moist and delicious!! Our breakfast was... More

Wonderfully done burgers. The drink menu was somewhat disappointing in the cocktail department (and overly sweet), but the beer and wine list were superb and well priced. Our waiter was great, very knowledgeable and nice to us. More

Fantastic Chef's Table dinner -- on the pricey side but worth it for something special! More

We ate dinner here twice during a stay both times sitting at the bar. The burger, short rib sliders and pulled pork sandwich were all distinguished by excellent and flavourful meat. The place itself however lacked atmosphere and ths staff looked uncomfortable. Our first night was marred by a bill that containers errors and unexpected charges including $3 for a... More

Wonderful dinner at the special chefs table. Complete 7 course meal cooked in front of us by the chef Jean Luc. The soup with duck garnish was excellent. I usually don't eat beets but his roasted beet salad with goat cheese and garnish was terrific. Had fish and meat courses then finished up with cheese and dessert. We had wine... More

We had a great time meeting other guests of the Inn as well as the locals who frequent the tavern for food and drink. The bartenders were very attentive and ready to serve. More
