Nothing earth shattering here, just reliable down home country cooking. The cafe has been here for decades. If there wasn't some consistency they would have never made it this long.

This place stinks like smoke and is dirty. Food is average and basically is a waste of time and money. Shouldn't be rated in top 20. I live here and it's disgusting.

The place is old and dirty. We have been there off and on for the past 30 years and other than adding an extra room, it has not been updated or changed. It reminds me of a 50's diner which is what I think it is supposed to be. The food is o.k. I love the waffle fries but everything...

What more could you want? For small town ambience and a look at the locals, this is the place to go. Daily meal specials are a bargain, Hamburgers and waffle fries are worth the cholesterol. Save room for the homemade pies.

This place fed our high school football team and the food was excellent and the service matched the food! I recommend the Chicken Fry with the waffle fries!

Went for the plate lunch ($5.50) which includes everything, drink & a small dessert. Got one of the best CFS's ever, along with 3 veggies which included a yellow squash casserole that tasted like yummy stuffing. Great value!

I have been going to Jake & Dorothy's most of my life. When I was living in other cities, it was always my first choice for a place to go eat when I came home to visit. Now that I have moved home again, I love to Jake's and I go there regularly. You can't beat the Monday - Friday...

Just an old diner in a sleepy Texas town. Used to eat breakfast there, and they'd run specials for us college kids occasionally. Definitely an artery clogger!
