If you want to try a non-formula, locally owned, Mexican spot--this place is for you. Not for Dennys-types. Friendly. If you visit more than twice, waiters will remember you. Informal... 'come in your work clothes'. Popular with locals. Great food. with a few dishes for those who want pancakes or French toast. Next winter, we'll go to Manuel's for lunch... More

The breakfast tortillas took up the whole plate. They also have regular breakkfast foods and also serve lunch. They are only open 7am-2pm Mon-Sat. and they get quite busy. Service is fast and they are great people. More

I have to go here every year when we come down to visit. They have the best breakfast! Be prepared to wait for a table, but it is well worth it. The breakfast taco/burrito is bigger than your plate. You will never have a bad meal here! More

Hungry? No one could possibly leave Manuel's hungry. The servings are gigantic. During a four-month stay at South Padre, we went to Manuel's about twice a week for breakfast. Very good food and delightful staff. Because we always went early we never had to wait but I am sure it's worth the wait. More

The many people that I know that are of Spanish or Mexican descent understand the importance of showing respect to your guest, either in their homes are businesses, this owner does not. Hateful, non-productive, lying political signs drive home the fact that if you don't believe or vote the way he does then you are really not welcome. Of course... More

When we visit South Padre we always have to have breakfast at Manuel's. The homemade (handmade) tortillas can not be beat. The place is small so you might have to wait. We always get a tortilla stuffed with lots of goodies. My fav is eggs, cheese, beans, and potatoes. It's hard to eat the whole thing because they are are... More

Actually have gone now twice to Manuel's, once for breakfast and once for Mexican food lunch. If you have read any of my previous reviews, you know if Mexican food is advertised on the fare, CHIPS & SALSA, is requirement numero uno. Manuel's delivered both and were tasty. They also have a signature Tortilla that is a foot in diameter!... More

Chilaquiles were too cheesy and did not have red salsa like the ones in Oaxaca, Mexico do. My husband liked his breakfast and service was great. More

Wonderful, flavorful pozole! Huge flour tortillas! Don't be fooled by appearances; looks like a dive, but great, simple fare. More

Best Mexican breakfast around. Go with your spouse/honey/any volunteer and order the "Log". Tell them to just load it up. You won't be disappointed. More
