Description: Barbie Lomonte left her St. Louis home over 30 years ago bringing with her a passion for traditional Italian fare, something Houston sorely needed. Barbie opened Pasta Lomonte's in 1986 and the intimate atmosphere continues to provide one of the most romantic settings in town. Barbie's friendliness and hospitality are reminiscent of a family kitchen, where everyone is a friend. The extensive menu is modest, featuring home-cooked Italian delights accompanied by "to die for" sauces. Barbie Lomonte and her friendly staff look forward to making your dining experience truly unforgettable.

i grew up eating my grandmothers homemade italian food and this was as close to my grandmothers cooking as i can remember. the canneloni was outstanding. I wish I had ordered the dinner portion. The sauce was so incredible i tried to mop up all of it. My grandmother would definitely have approved. their famous salad was fresh and flavorful... More

We had a nice dinner at Lamonte's Italian Restaurant at the suggestion of my father-in-law who has been there several times. The restaurant has nice ambiance inside and has nice outside areas when the weather is nice. Try the toasted ravioli as an appetizer. The wine list has some great selections at reasonable prices. Many of the pasta dishes are... More

First I'll say the service, atmosphere and restaurant appeal were right on with a nice Italian restaurant. I ordered the "special" of the day, beef medalions with a reduction sauce, angel hair pasta and grilled shrimp for $35.00 I was expecting an awesome meal. The beef was not tasty at all and a bit tough. It was clearly not quality... More

I was very impressed with our Saturday night dinner. The staff is very knowledgeable about the food and wine and I felt like we were in good hands. Having had many meals in Italy, its always nice to go to an Italian restaurant that really 'gets it' - the ingredients are simple, but put together in a perfect way. We... More

Lomonte's has a nice family atmosphere, all the waiters are working hard to make everything appear perfect. Food is good although a little too elaborate and with plenty of cheese and sauces everywhere, you better be into those to really enjoy it. Wine choice is wide and high quality.

My husband and I had dinner there tonight and came home raving about how good the food and service were. This is a cozy, intimate, Italian restaurant worth experiencing. Pasta dishes were excellent, salmon was very fresh and cooked to perfection, Pasta Fagioli, was the best soup we have ever tasted. Service was very attentive and managers visited our table... More

I have eaten at this restaurant 3 times and would have eaten there 3 more times but couldn't get a table. I guess that is a sign of its popularity. If you go on a weekend, make reservations. Sometimes they will have room in the bar. Food is very good. Parking is difficult as the restaurant has a small parking... More

I recently had a lunch meeting here. I had a lasagne, which seemed to be a popular choice at our table. The veal was also another popular choice. We were all pleased with our choices and agreed that the food was fantastic. The service was efficient and business-like, which we appreciated. We also loved the ambiance and the fact that... More

My wife and I tried this place without any great expectations - driven by many times but never stopped in. I'm glad we finally tried it. Really nice inside great atmosphere - outside pretty bland strip center look but definately give them a try you'll be very pleased. Great food and better service - we loved it. Can't wait to... More

I have eaten here several times for lunch over the last few years and always found the service to be quick and efficient. While the prices are a bit high for lunch, the food is always prepared fresh to order and the proportions are more than adequate. Recently I tried their daily special of chicken ravioli served over sauteed spinach... More
