Our yearly visit to Glen Rose always includes this awesome café! The owner and everyone who works there makes this place fun! I love to browse through the books. The food is good and we had a surprise this year. Our lunches had some pickle slices on the side that were the best pickles we have ever eaten! Paw Paw's... More

We stopped for late lunch midweek, and were the only ones there. The waitress showed us all the rooms and gave a brief history. The café is much larger than you'd think from the outside. We enjoyed sandwiches and deserts, and dancing to certain songs (we did the "twist") gets a 10% discount. We'll definitely go back again.

I enjoy eating at locally-owned restaurants and this one is fun and one-of-a-kind. Good, home-style food, friendly staff, and fun atmosphere. And a nice, small bookstore to top it off. Obviously a great place to take your kids, as Miss Storie has a great playroom next to the dining area. Open for lunch, and some evenings for dinner.

Loved finding this place. A dream come true - food, books, and a playroom for my kids!! Truly a gem and my Greek salad was delicious. The boys enjoyed their lunch of grilled cheese and root beer. Great place!

This place was adorable! A book store, cafe and kid's entertainment area all in one! There are two eating areas and one is connected to a children's area where they can play and dress up to their heart's content. The food was okay ( reason for only very good instead of great) but I would come back again. It was... More

Our waitress was Shelly (with a Y...so she said). Very chatty, but fun! Food was very good. Prices were reasonable except for the $4.99 bottle of Dublin, Texas, Dr. Pepper I purchased. Did I say it was only an 8 ounce bottle? But not to fret. All is good. If that was the only issue life was good the day... More

Kids ordered the "fresh house-made lemonade". I expected that to be fresh-squeezed lemonade but it was obviously made with lemon concentrate and was really bad. I questioned the waitress about it and she was obviously annoyed when I asked for a substitute. Then she came back later all chatty and nice...I'm guessing she confirmed with the kitchen I was right... More

This is a darling place. The staff is so/so. The ones in the kitchen...seem frustrated, always. I expect more than dingy t-shirts from a waitstaff. Cute place..put your staff in cute shirts. Have eaten here several times. The soups are horrible. The sandwiches are pretty good. The pasta is not worth the time or trouble. There are several other great... More

We love this place-- so quaint and child friendly! The food is awesome! We came last year and couldn't wait to come back! My son couldn't wait to find a book to read when we got there! We all played a card game while waiting for our food-- great family fun!!

My husband and I discovered the Storiebook Cafe while driving through Glen Rose a couple of weekends ago. Wonderful atmosphere, nice staff and the food was good too. The fudge brownie sundae I won "doing" the limbo was to die for. Will definitely stop in again on my way through Glen Rose. Might even make a trip down just to... More
