Here's why: the service is HORRIBLE. The food is decent - the Lobster tail is good, but the mashed potatoes were not creamy at all and weren't very well seasoned because they were bland. I ordered a cocktail as soon as we sat down since it is a pre-dinner drink and it didn't arrive until AFTER my entree was served.... More

Love the atmosphere and the staff is very friendly. Service was great. We were surprised that the food wasn't at the same level. The choppino had raw shrimp and calamari in it. However, the sauce and halibut were great. The steak was okay, but not mouth watering but the green beans were very good. The chocolate cake dessert was good... More

One of the best restaurant experiences I've ever had. I travel extensively and eat out often. This it the first time I've ever had a General Manager come to our table, give us his card and praise the server we had (well deserved praise!). The manager, Noah Lucas, gave us his business card and asked us to send him "any... More

Truluck's is a go-to place for me when in Dallas. I really enjoy seafood, and they do it well. Eaten there about ten times over the past five years, most recently last month. Food: Wonderfully prepared, fresh fish. Never overdone, great shellfish collection. Killer salads too. Service: Perfect for a business meeting or for a casual dinner. Always friendly, but... More

A bit pricey, but the food was fabulous. If you are looking for a great seafood place - this is your place. One of the people in our party had steak and he loved it. I had the Trout and another person had the all you can eat crab. All was delicious. Service was phenominal.

My wife and I wanted a special place to celebrate our anniversary and simply put...an excellent choice. The service was top notch complete with complimentary dessert to celebrate our special occassion. The staff was personable and you could tell that this place has lots of regulars based on the conversations with the staff around us, always a good sign. If... More

Live in Austin now and love it. When I really miss Dallas it is recalling favorite places like TRULUCK'S. My Dallas daughter made reservations on Mother's Day after viewing the Chagall at the DMA. Truluck's met every expectation for our table of 4 .....happily some things really do retain quality. Our waitress kept me from giving this experience a 5... More

Came here for a business dinner, and found the food to be acceptable, yet a bit bland, the wine very well priced, and the service quick and friendly. We ordered a bottle of Albariño, of which we had certain reservations, as its price was quite low (at half off price - it was wednesday- we paid $22 for the full... More

After years traveling the US, my wife and I pretty much lost faith in having decent fresh fish, cooked to the right point and with TASTE OF FISH. Not in Florida, neither in Massachusetts. Curiously Vegas and Dallas has been the places where I've had the best FRESH fish. So here it comes: Truluck's is the one and only place... More

The food is outstanding, featuring seafood but I enjoyed greatly the roasted chicken dish that evening. Nice bar and wine list. Has a distinctly 50s diner feel in the layout and design, but certainly much more sleek and far classier than that description would suggest. Service was very good with a knowledgable waiter ready with a recommendation upon request. Overall... More
