Walking into Lock Drugs, you'll feel like you've stepped back through time to an era of small-town soda fountains. Reasonably priced, old-fashioned soda fountain treats are not to be missed. I had the Frosted Coke - a coke and vanilla ice cream milkshake.

Fun to sit and watch the local people come in and out for their purchases. The malt was very malty like the ones I remember from childhood. The chocolate shake and ice cream were blue bell, good but nothing out of the ordinary.

Took family for ice cream and loved the old fashioned ice cream parlor. Ice cream tasted so-so but I expected the ice cream to taste better. It was worth it to go once just to eat at the old fashioned ice cream parlor.

The real deal. My sister in law times her trips to Bastrop so she can get to Locks before the soda bar closes (3pm). Great coffee and a really unique old time pharmacy.

Still run by former our Mayor of Bastrop who has made it a great place to buy medicine and small gifits for years. But I must admit, the 1900's soda fountain is the reason locals and tourists flock to the old pharmacy. Want a REAL malt or shake or ice cream cone? Pull up to the marble slab ice cream... More

My wife and I love visiting Lock Drugs. It is an old drugstore with a malt and ice cream parlor. It reminded me of a Norman Rockwell painting where the attendant at the ice cream parlor in serving little girls in the drugstore. My wife and I enjoyed our shake and malt and enjoyed the atmosphere. Also, the staff was... More

You can't beat eating a float or banana split from an old time soda fountain. The perfect afternoon treat.

Stop in for a root beer float, made the old-timey way! Or a cone or a milkshake or just a cuppa coffee. It's a genuine step back in time. You won't be disappointed!
