This little bistro is only a short distance off the interstate, and one of our favorites. The prices are very reasonable, and the food fantastic. My favorites: meatballs and spaztle, reuben sandwich and home-made potato chips, any of the schnitzels . . . red cabbage. And soup. Rosie's soup is so good I could order a quart of it and...

We com through Manchester several times a month and always stop to eat. Food is always great from the souls ro the entrees. The Saurbraten, homemade spatzel and other brautens ( chicken or pork) are always great. Only negative is the servers are very slow. Have been there when we were almost only ones there and when it was moderately...

I'll say up front that I don't have the background to understand "authentic" German cuisine, but I do know what I like. Having eaten at the Gasthaus several times and having different selections on each visit, it's been delicious without fail. Several times, we've dined with folks who have driven from larger cities (some with competing German restaurants) to eat...

We had a great meal of Sauerbraten, which was the Wednesday special. Dumplings were light and tasty, and to top it off, fresh raspberry torte. Fresh baked rye bread from Germany, too. Several german beers to try also. The server was very friendly, telling us about the area and that a PBS crew had been in recently to film about...

Get a copy of the bier selection, because you will not be able to pronounce the names...just point and say "that one". The...

Restaurant was closed on our 1st pass thru Manchester and we were looking forward to good German food based on reviews we had read, one of which had said better than German cuisine in Nashville. Salad was drenched in dressing, bread was stale and store bought, Schweinebraten was fatty and served in a plate of water and grease. It tasted...

We enjoyed ourselves at Gasthaus for so many reasons. Among the most important include authentic, made from scratch dishes that weren't expensive or over-priced, friendly/warm atmosphere, and an incredible selection of German beers that also weren't over-priced or expensive.
If you are anywhere close to this restaurant, it is definitely worth stopping in for a great meal!
