I love to go to cafe 4 for coffee and dessert whenever I'm downtown. It beats any other place! I haven't had much luck eating here....but walking in for my treat after I have eaten somewhere else makes up for it!

First, there was nothing we didn't like. The food and service are superb. The adjoining Square Room features Jazz, Ballet, Classical Music, and Plays on alternating Wednesdays.
Were in town for a big car show, and were pleasantly surprised to find that the city runs a free trolley to the downtown Market Square, since we didn't want to risk parking our show car. There are a lot of choices in restaurants, but we hit a home run with Cafe 4.We started with soups, a tomato bisque, and southwest...

Saturday morning (11 AM) with the Farmer's Market open and light rain drove people into the restaurant early. We just stopped for coffee today. The cappuccino was lukewarm and the barrista seemed a little disorganized, but pleasant. None of us had ever been to Knoxville, and we just stumbled on this restaurant wandering through Market Square. Very good! The breakfast was delicious and, even though I was totally full from my delicious frittata, I had to get one of the phenomenal...

My husband and I enjoyed breakfast on the patio. Mocha coffee the best I've tasted. The farmers scramble was yummy and the eggs and cheese grits were great. Very nice meal.
We were facing another day and a half on the road, and just couldn't face another fast food place, so we turned to trip advisor for a local restaurant in Knoxville. We picked Cafe 4 because of its good food reviews and eclectic menu. Those did not disappoint, but we got a lot more. It was a beautiful afternoon, so...

We ate here multiple times while attending a conference, and enjoyed every meal! From brunch, lunch, dinner and drinks, everything we ate was delicious and reasonably priced. We especially loved the Shrimp and Grits! The Arts Festival was going on during our visit, and it was great people watching from the patio. We felt that Cafe 4 was a better...

Another great meal with great atmosphere on the patio. The food is always great matched with good service. Eat outside on the patio especially during the spring when not so hot. Great views from the patio of Market Square especially during the Dogwoods Arts Festival. We got our check then asked if we could do another round since we were...

Tried Cafe 4 on a trip to Knoxville. I've been to Knoxville before but never tried them out yet. Based on reviews and a personal recommendation, decided it was worth a try and I was not disappointed!
Had a small salad and small mac&cheese....Salad was wonderful and the mac&cheese was great. They have a mac&cheese "bar" with lots of different...
