Description: Located in the historic Congaree Vista with a heated patio and free valet parking, Motor Supply has been serving progressive, New World cuisine using classic French culinary techniques for over 20 years. Lunch, dinner and brunch menus change daily, featuring contemporary American, French, Italian and Asian cuisine. We are Columbia's foremost "farm to fork" restaurant, working sustainable farms and an almost exclusively local larder of produce and meats. Seafood is caught off of the Carolina coast, and all of our stocks, sauces and desserts are made on site, including our charcuterie, with house-made sausages, bacon, country pate, and rillettes, all the way down to the pickles and mustard. Our early 19th century, solid-oak bar with marble columns, imported from Europe, serves 180+ fine wines (Wine Spectator’s Award of Excellence, 2006-12), an extensive list of imported, domestic and high gravity beers, as well as house-infused spirits, handmade bitters, and barrel-aged cocktails.

We ate on the back patio today. The service was relaxed but good. The menu changes daily. I had a prime rib sandwich with a bean salad. The others had a healthy pizza with salad. Dessert was a dark chocolate torte. All good. This place is not marked too well but if you go specifically to the address, you will... More

Our extended family enjoyed a nice Saturday brunch. Local foods, organic, very good. We ordered a combination of salads, sandwiches, and entrees and everyone liked their food. Yum gluten-free chocolate torte for dessert! Unique atmosphere, reasonable prices. We will be back!

We had a fresh and tasty grilled vegetable salad and a delicious reuben sandwich. Service was friendly. Great cocktail menu. We'll definitely be back!

First time here and we were struck with how fresh the food was and atmosphere was great. Fresh fruit and homemade pickles were the perfect pairing with our sandwich. Only one beer on tap but it was an excellent local selection. Overall great place and will be back

Stopped here for lunch before going to the airport. Could not have been happier to have found this restaurant! There were four of us and we all ordered something different off the handwritten menu that changes twice a day. The crab and chicken salads were both generous, well seasoned with unique ingredients and just plain delicious. Out of meatloaf they... More

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Columbia, and I always try to visit when I am in town. I recommend you get reservations (if you can). PROs - nice drink/wine/Scotch selections - OUTSTANDING duck special (not always on the menu). Cooked to perfection! CONs - they changed their cheese plate appetizer. It used to be robust, but now... We had a terrific evening at Motor Supply Company on the Friday night of Masters' week. This was our first night in Columbia and we just showed up at the restauarnt around 8:00 without reservations. We were told to expect a 45 minute wait so we went to the bar and joined other couples at the long table in the... More

Happened across this while walking around in the Vista area of Columbia. No reservations, but got seated right away. Ordered a special, fried lobster tail. They substituted out some sides for us, which I always appreciate. Food was very good, lobster cooked perfectly. Service was fast and efficient, but I did feel like I was being rushed for the table... More

My husband had eaten here before and suggested it. I looked at the menu and I wasn't sure that anything appealed to my tasted buds but I was pleasantly Surprised. Our server suggested the Pork Porterhouse with mash potatoes with mushroom gravy...It was really good. The pork porterhouse was a thick cut a little too much for me to eat... More

This is always a must when we visit Columbia. Hand written menu daily. Everything from the appetizers to desserts are well done and delicious. Presentation is beautiful and tasty as they use all fresh local ingredients. We've gone to the brunch several times and it was delicious as well. Lots of southern influence - a unique Columbia restaurant.
