The only thing worth going for is the truffle mac and cheese- it's to die for. Other then that, the sushi is average, the atmosphere is really loud and the service has much to be desired. More

Was headed to meet friends afterwords for drinks, and decided i wanted some good food. I had been to J. Paulz a few years ago with friends, so i remembered the cuisine was better than average. I was greeted at the door, which is always a plus, and was seated at the bar. The bar is open and very nice.... More

For one to truly grasp the full talent of this Chef they must have a couple of things. The Pork Belly, mac & cheese, and the Tuna Tartare. It is phenomenal. We will be back as regulars and I mean it. Great fun with Rob the owner. More

The sushi was very good. The menu had a variety of items so everyone could get something they wanted. The ambience was quiet and cozy. The staff was friendly and helpful. More

We ate here this weekend and it was great. The wine was good and reasonably priced. We shared a sushi roll to start and it was excellent - would definitely go back for the sushi. I had the salad with duck - it was good, but a minimal amount of duck. There were only a few salads on the menu... More

We love everything about this place. Decor is cool and there are little gems on the menu that you want to have again and again! The most simple foods on the Tapas Menu are like non-other. You need to taste the Truffle Mac&Cheese...to die for!! And, as far as being a family atmosphere....We have been there several times on vacation... More

The baked chicken was the best I've ever had. Wish I could have tried everything on the menu. Cam't wait to go back! More

I really like this restaurant. I have been here many times and always with my kid. She really loves it!. the food is really good. I think the problem they have had in the past is with chefs. I hope they read this and keep the young girl they have right now. I couldnt believe how fast she was moving!... More

We stopped in after seeing the lights at James Island County Park around 7:30 PM Friday night. The place was packed, but the hostess found us two bar seats near the kitchen. Rob, owner/operator, was working in the open kitchen and greeted us warmly. After finding out we were first-time visitors, he brought us a sample of the apple/pear/spice infused... More

Arrived at J Paul'z at 8pm on a Wed. evening for dinner with another couple. The food was very filling and well flavored. Service was spotty as the place was filling up quickly. By 9pm, the 7 piece band began to play lots of Michael Jackson and the dancing began. The band was quite good, but we couldn't carry on... More
