This is a wonderful place especially if you are staying at the Vendue Inn. It is just steps away from the Inn. You feel as though you are the only one being served this wonderful meal, even though the restaurant is full. The Shrimp and Grits are to die for and if you ever have the chance to have room... More

In our hotel, the Vendue Inn..the chef comes by the owner HH of cheese and wine and says hello. He recommends everything but he pushes the two signature dishes that are always note menu. We tried them...duck 2 ways, a moist breast and a tender flavorful loin offset by a lemony light risotto with Parmesan. Perhaps the best duck dish... More

My husband & I was referred to this restaurant for dinner. We were in Charleston celebrating our anniversary and was there for a romantic dinner, well this restaurantl had two strikes. We were brought out a piece of shrimp each, well my husband cut the shrimp in half and found a curley black hair under the shrimp. We called the... More

The atmosphere, location and ambience is so wonderful here. i loved it from the moment I set eyes on it; even the bathrooms are adorable. Unfortunately the rest is not as great. Let me first say that this place is pretty pricey, therefore I expect some things (i.e. great service and great food). The service wasn't horrible, but it wasn't... More

The atmosphere made the experience. The Library is small and sweet, a perfect couples retreat if you enjoy quiet and traditional (which we love). Broken up into several rooms, we truly felt that we were in a fine home dining room rather than a hopping restaurant. Lovely. The food was good, not incredible, but solid and met our expectations. We... More

The Llibrary has well appointed tables, lighting and an affable staff. The food has a French flair and is good. Although the food and atmosphere are decent, the costs are really out of sight...My companion had the scallop entree...3 scallops. It was beautifully presented but way too pricey. I had the snapper entree; it was expensive. Instead of bread, you... More

The view from the restaurant was lovely, but they couldn't accomodate my food allergies. They actually sent us off to find a different place to eat. (GF/TN/PN allergies beware)

We went on a weeknight at 530pm and there was very few people there. The staff was terrific and we were very well taken care of while dining. The steaks were great and it is a good anniversary or date night location. Its a very short walk to waterfront park, or to the bars in East Bay St.
