Anthony's used to be spectacular - they changed the oil they used several years ago and you can tell the difference. I used to go here frequently and never had a bad meal, Now I go once-twice/year and it falls short. I keep hoping they go back to what they used to use. Will keep hoping. Not so bad that... More

Just a simple fish market restaurant with excellent seafood. A great value too. Note - you order at the counter then choose your seat. We ordered a small claw chowder and Portugese fish chowder - should have skipped the clam chowder and got two orders of the Portugese - its spicy though, but really great. Ordered fried sampler and fried... More

Being from the UK we expect high quality fish and chips and whilst the fish was very fresh the batter was poor and the chips seemed to be a frozen product. Overall we felt that the price was high for the level of food quality and service. Sorry but we won't be back.

It aint fancy and you have to be patient as it takes a bit of time to queue and to order. The staff are friendly and helpful. The cod and chips was the best fish and chips I've had anywhere in the US - and probably equal to the best anywhere - and I've been to a lot of fish... More

We went to this restaurant because it's rated #1 in the area, and for the most part were not disappointed. It was super crowded, but the long line moves quickly and we managed to get a good table. The lobsters were very good and the prices don't get any better! The only reason I don't give this place a 5-rating... More

Wow...how it easy it would be to overlook this place. Thanks to the reviewers and word of mouth, however, we knew what we were getting into. You have to have the Portuguese fish chowder...the best I have ever had. The steamers and King crab legs were fresh and done perfectly. The salmon burger was tasty and moist and the fries... More

We ate here 3 nights in a row - Memorial Weekend 2013. The food is fresh, great value. Staff are helpful, not a place to linger. One night our chips were overcooked and greasy and when I pointed it out, they were immediately replaced with a smile. Serves are on the large size, be warned! We cancelled 2 nights reservation... You can get fresh fish in a simple no frills atmosphere. Cooked to order. A local favorite. You can also buy fish to take home/

A year ago Anthony's was featured on DD&D so we drove from Newport to Middletown to have a seafood lunch. I had clam chowder and my wife had fish and chips and both were tasty and well prepared. It is also a fish market and between people buying seafood items and people coming to dine, the place was very busy,... More

It would be easy to drive right by Anthony's which we did until a local recommended it to us. They sell fresh seafood and have an area for prepared food as well. Their soups and lobster rolls are delicious!
