This restaurant is all about the food. It is part of Milky Way Lodge and is only open on Mondays and Fridays during the summer. We had the best slow cooked lamb shanks I have ever eaten. The food on LHI is generally big city standard. The communal tables lead to a generally informal and friendly meal. The night we... More

Only open two nights a week, may have to share long tables with other groups but no big deal. Waiters are characters and the food is not bad - I had a good steak there. Good, well-priced meals. More

Sociable place to eat, no couples tables so you sit with like minded travellers and enjoy their company. Great idea. Food was good and plenty to eat. Desserts are yummy. More

We had the misfortune of going to this restaurant. We ordered med rare steak that was well done and after only eating a quarter of the meal and complaining we were not offered another meal or even a discount. The staff did not even apologise. There are some very good restaurants on Lord Howe Island but this is definitely not... More

Waited over an hour for dinner of fish and chips. The fish was good but the chips were greasy. The venue is very uninviting and service poor. They also do takeaway and obviously have taken on more than they can manage. More

Beachouse on the Moon is open two nights a week and apparently it is always crowded. You order food and drinks at the front - the waitstaff were very busy but friendly. Inside seating is at long communal tables and the roar of conversation must be audible for quite some distance. I almost expected to hear the tap of cutlery... More

I know it was the Monday of the October Long Weekend but the service at this place was less than satisfactory. A group of friends ordered their meals before the rest of us and 90 minutes later, after 2 requests as to the whereabouts of their meals, they received them, my friends who ordered directly after them recieved their meals... We had the seafood Platter. It was alot of food for our money. Fish, prawns, heaps of chips and a side salad. Service was friendly. You sit with other people on long tables. We didnt mind as we could talk to other tourists about their holiday, but I could tell some people at our table were not that happy with... More
