History with great food. The prime rib I had ranked up there with the best I have had. Crab corn chowder was first rate. Great place to eat!

Not so good as last time. I wrote a supportive review of this location in May 2011, and being in Hollisdaysburg overnight again, we decided to return to affirm our good earlier experience, As another reviewer noted of this eatery recently, it’s a combination of good and bad. We three arrived at 6:20 for a 6:30 seating on a weed...

Ok. I was back in town and revisited with friends who live in the area. Let's be clear. The waitstaff is always friendly and the drinks are decent. The martinis are sizeable, wine is ok but limited. We all started with cream-of-some-vegetable soup, which was a green tinged, runny, hyper-salted effluvium with Saltine crackers on the side. Right. Salads were...

Our thoughts on Easter brunch:
Good:
- Very charming atmosphere.
- Hostess and servers were very, very nice and super efficient serving drinks and clearing plates.
- Fresh salad and fruit trays.
- Good peanut butter bars (one of just 3 desserts).
- Sushi for Easter brunch. Never saw that before--live and learn!
- A shrimp/succotash dish that my husband...

I have eaten here on multiple occasions in the past, and there is apparently talk that the place is being sold again. Tonight (2/8/2011, 7:30 PM), we walked in and were greeted by...no one. The bartender was also MIA. We walked to the dining room and it was...empty. The only constant is the same harsh, tasteless overhead lighting. Felt like...

As locals, we know that the food quality of this restaurant has been spotty over the years, but when an out of town visitor was intrigued by its charm, we agreed to try again. Drinks, appetizers and salads were good, but 2 of the 3 main courses were, in my opinion, inedible. The trout was bland and frankly tasted at...

This is a one of a kind place!
The food is very good from the presentation to the taste!
The food and drinks are accually cheap for what you get.
You can go for a nice layed back lunch or a formal dinner.
I highly recommend this place to anybody that values good food and a unique atmosphere.

Three of us went to a Sunday evening dinner at the US Hotel in Hollidaysburg this past week. Unintentionally we entered the building thru the bar instead of the front door to the restaurant and are glad we did. We stopped and admired the bar as one doesn’t see this throw back very often. I’d have liked to have spent...

The food was half-decent, but the “owner”, Karen, was rude during each encounter and always treated us as an inconvenience to her. We planned our wedding in five months and the U.S. Hotel was the only available option – now I know why it was free during the busiest wedding month of 2010. During our visit to taste their food...
