Was able to get a sandwich without the bread. They had wonderful mashed potatoes served along side the bread less meal. Will visit again if in the area for sure.
As we waited for our table we couldn't help but notice a worker sporting a long beard w/ no covering. Lunch was served with a long beard hair in one of the malt drinks. Also, we watched another worker clean a cutting board off with the same rag used to wipe down tables and knives. The service was great and... More
It was a happy coincidence that the private table in the back was available for our family of 6, as it was quite busy. Blueplate goes back to the original diners, serving very good food at reasonable prices. It is a labor of love. One of the best Beef Stroganoff dishes that I have ever had. Forget those yucky school cafeteria versions. Same is true of the grilled cheese and tomato soup combo. Yes, it is that different from what you might expect.
Loved the chicken sandwich and the sliders. Crazy good. Pot roast sandwich was a little tough. Peanut butter shake was great, but chocolate shakes were just ok.
First I love to watch 3-d but I don't put a lot of stock in his recommendations, ever hear him say something sucks? Well when asked for a lunch recommendation, the bell man at the Monaco recommended the Blueplate an boy was he spot-on. The steak and Tiliamuck cheese sandwich was unusual in its tangy gooey crispy crunch. Top that... More
Stopped by this spot on my recent trip to Portland, a stellar find! Nice little comfy diner with great food and spectacular hand crafted sodas made with all natural ingredients. Had the grilled cheese with the tomato soup (that is made fresh everyday) and the northwest sliders were yummy. Extremely popular spot since they have been featured on the Food... More
