Wife and I tried the tasting menu - we had a number of dishes, most of which I (admittedly) would not have ordered on my own. The bacon-wrapped dates with almond was the surprise of the night. The dates were mildly sweet, yet very flavourful, with the almond providing some crunch, and the bacon, well, it makes everything better. There... More

True to everything you hear, Toro Bravo is one of Portland best restaurants. I live here and can't believe it took me this long to eat here! Absolutely fabulous. There wasn't one thing I didn't like. Important to the experience is also the service-perfect, and the atmosphere-cozy yet bustling. I would definitely go back here again and again! More

Always so good - I am a regular here. Every dish is so interesting and delicious you just really can't go wrong. The one thing on the menu I have dreams about though is the Duck Liver Terrine. It has a texture like rich ice cream but with the most mouthwatering savory flavor. Another favorite is the braised Lamb on... More

We went just before Valentine's Day on a Sunday and had a great time. Arrived at opening and got a table right away; prompt, friendly service was appreciated. Menu has extensive options for traditional tapas, and there are many with Northwestern flare and/or ingredients. Paella was great, chorizo awesome, sherry mushrooms to die for...I don't think we didn't like anything... More

Well, there's no doubt about it, the wait stinks. The bar upstairs is a good place to kill time but you're still facing a 45 minute (minimum) wait most nights. However, the food is good enough to make it worth your time. Great tapas (some traditional, some not) and a fun ambiance. More

Went to Toro Bravo on the recommendation of a friend. My husband and I were in town for a 3-day weekend and were trying to eat at as many restaurants as possible! We arrived a little after 7pm and as many other reviewers have stated, there was a long wait (1.5 hours), but the hostess was very nice and suggested... More

The Tapas here were creative and tasted wonderful, could not order anything bad. The wait-staff were professional. The line starts a little before opening; another option would be to come around 6:30 when many of the 5 o'clock diners are leaving. Might be a little pricey, but when the line goes down the block I guess you can charge anything... More

Went here on a Saturday night recently & had a very enjoyable time. They don't take reservations so you have to turn up and wait - was only in town for two nights so was going to have to take it on the chin, but the 2 hour wait was stretching it slightly! Fortunately the hostess was very good with... More
