I'd travel to Portland just to eat here again. If you don't have a reservation, sit at the bar and just go course for course. The bartender is extremely warm and knowledgable about the food as well. Go for the pork belly. And look forward to your mini-macaroon to top off the meal.

Small but decent menu. This is probably good so they only concentrate on a few times. The food was good but in the end, the taste in your mouth is terrible if you take into account the wait staff. Went their last week for a birthday lunch and wished we had gone and spent out money elsewhere. I'm not sure... More

We walked here from our hotel on the recommendation of the hotel front desk staff and were very fortunate to be seated right away with all the other tables already occupied by spirited but appropriately behaved diners. Excellent overall experience with atmosphere, food, and service all delightful. Definitely worth a repeat visit on another trip to Portland.

Tucked into a tiny storefront in Portland's downtown, Little Bird offers delicious French bistro-style food in a little Paris-like nook. The service is attentive without being obtrusive and excellent advice was provided for wine pairings. Reservations are essential. Other than the crowds, the only downside is that the space gets quite loud when crowded.

This was a recommendation from the bellman at the hotel. He was right. The food is very good and the service good as well. We arrived there on a Friday night and the hostess was very accommodating.

Little Bird panders shamelessly to my romantic Francophile yearnings, and delivers: from the menu to the decor to the occasionally brusque service, it's a few hours of Continental fantasy in a cozy downtown space. Best menu choices are the specials, salads, and appetizers. If you're into the Fred Flintstone thing, definitely get the marrow bones when they're available. Interesting, well-priced... More

We came here on the advice of a local who told us it was excellent. We were very disappointed. The food was average at best, the only decent thing was the cassoulet. My striped bass was very strong tasting which made me think the fish was not as fresh as it should have been. The steak frites was terrible. We... More

I, from California, was visiting Portland friends. They chose Little Bird Bistro and Concierge Desk at Benson Hotel confirmed it as a good choice. Easy walk from hotel to Bistro. Tho a Monday we found the restaurant full with a 20 minute wait which was handled by the staff very smoothly. Friendly, thoughtful service. Excellent food. Great help with food... More

Service was timely and not pretentious. They did not hurry us at all. Wine choices were excellent. The french bistro food was above average and worthy of another visit. Easy to find the restaurant. Make reservations though.
