As always, nice relaxed informal atmosphere. Staff always very welcoming. Efficient service. Nice meal. If you go on a Thursday before 11am you can also visit the Shipbourne Farmers Market next door too.

We had lunch at this stunning pub set in the heart of the Weald of Kent. Several Kent walks start and end at this location and it's a,wonderful place for a drink or lunch afterwards. Choice of beers is excellent, with ales kept well. It's a busy pub restaurant but there were plenty of young staff and service was excellent.
we've visited the Chaser a few times over the years.
I love the location, next to the church and over looking the common; you get the feeling that you're looking at the same views that previous visitors have done for centuries.
The food is good too, not cheap but large portion sizes. Makes an ideal venue for an informal family...

Only been here once but was thoroughly impressed with the quality of food. Personal favourite was the white chocolate cheesecake. One downside was a member of our party having to return their steak, having asked for rare it came out well done! But the staff were more than happy to rectify this problem.
I have heard great things about The Chaser, and wanted to check it out for myself this afternoon. 3 of us arrived for lunch, to be greeted by a lady in a red top. I asked "do you have a table for 3 available?" To which the woman replied "well no, there's a wait", I asked how long the wait...

I go here fairly regularly - and they rarely let you down! allways polite & courteous, and i must say the service has always been fairly quick, in fact if its going to be slow, they tend to advise you advance. My favourite - the lamb shoulder, but would advise ordering when hungry!
Staff were always cheerful and attentive...great ale and wine selection...food really good. Will return.
Took 10 for lunch,by appointment with those numbers, and came away tremendously pleased with the event.Service was good, prompt attention and drinks etc.and efficient service of meals. The food was very well received all round, and the youngest grand-daughter said 'Fish and Chips(a childs portion) were the BEST EVER' and wished she had ordered an adult plate!Cant get better than that,The mains meats were...
