First time visit for lunch, we enjoyed the 'Ladies Lunch' menu, one course, glass of wine and warm homemade bread for £10.50 per head. The ambience was excellent, staff friendly and the meals were first class. The decor is clean and modern but cottagey. Surrounded by countryside, it would also be pleasant to sit outside when we eventually get some... More

Visited on a Friday evening, joined a couple of other early diners at 6.30pm by 7.30pm the place was more or less full, lively buzz but not too noisy. Small restaurant with an excellent and varied menu. All food is freshly cooked so may mean a little wait but it is well worth it. This is a lovely location both... More

The Cuckoo is located in a secluded spot just off the A414. From the outside it looks like a house which has been converted to a pub and very individual. When you walk in, the furnishings are cottagey and welcoming and it is surprisingly small. Having said that, tables are well spaced. We arrived early for our table and were... More

We had a lovely meal here last week with family. The food was first class and the service extremely good as well. Would highly recommend the homemade bread and the homemade peanut butter ice cream is a must.

5 of us had lunch for a friends birthday, although there was a ladies lunch menu 2 courses and a glass of wine for £10.50 we opted for the main menu. I could have picked everything it was so good, in fact one of the best meals I've ever eaten in a pub. The rosemary bread was yummy. I had... More

A group of us went to this delightful little restaurant for a birthday meal. The fresh rosemary bread is almost worth the visit in its own right but the rest of the meal was just as sumptuous. We were not made to feel that we had to leave even though it was passed 3 o'clock when we left and we... More

My family recently organised a surprise birthday dinner for me here. I could not fault the food or service - however, when glancing at the bill the next day, I discovered that £17.50 had been added 'for birthday cake'. My daughter had provided the cake and candles, and as she had NOT been told about this charge when she 'phoned... More

Small but excellent menu. Something to sit all tastes. Excellent venue small and cosy, but not too small that you hear the conversation of the table next to you. Food was well presented and arrived with just the right amount of space between courses. Not an extensive wine list but something to did all tastes.

The Cuckoo is quite small so booking is essential. It is very popular with many repeat customers. It is clean and furnished in a style that suits the building. It is comfortable and the atmosphere is relaxed and convivial. The service is very good and there is an excellent choice on the menu for such a small restaurant. There is... More

Really good food and well priced but service a bit stuffy and starchy old matronly. Older clientelle. Lacks atmosphere.
