We had dinner here, which was exceptionally good. The staff were warm and friendly and the service was fabulous. Certainly a place we would stop at again.
Had a very pleasant lunch and then did some shopping downstairs. Here we learned about the Anchors Aweigh show in Rocky Harbour, and bought a wooden toy for a baby grandson.
From the advice of fellow travellers, we headed over to the Old Loft restaurant at Woody Point for lunch. While the food was really amazing and the decor was cool, the service was quite aloof. For the first time, we missed the friendliness of the local people.
We had lunch here, and it was delightful, a highlight of our visit to Gros Morne. Service was fast and efficient. The food was fresh and attractively presented. Try the moose pie. Without doubt this was the best surf and turf we ever had, and at a reasonable price. Service and setting were nice too, and there was nice local art.

Very good pan seared halibut steak, average seafood platter (cod, scallops, shrimp). Nice setting overlooking Bonne Bay, but it was too cool to sit outside when we were there. The dining room is above a gift shop which has nice local knitting etc.
Finally we have found a restaurant in Newfoundland with delicious food, good portions and good price. I had a very tasty, tender, and good sized chicken breast with a salad with fresh greens, strawberries, and tangerine slices, and homemade wholegrain bread for only 11.99. I could have substituted the salad for a potato and vegetable. My husband had a pork... More
