We had reservations for 5 pm, got there about 430 and had a drink at the Wild Turkey Lounge before dinner. My wife had the bacon wrapped filet and I had the 22 oz ribeye. Everything about this place was first rate. Cheese & crackers, relish tray, wedge salad, garden salad, baked potatoe, homemade pound cake and of course the... More

There are many restaurants in the area to go to for a special dinner but most of them have the exact same atmosphere- not so for the Angus Barn. This is a very nice restaurant with great, attentive service in a casual atmosphere. It's been very full each time I have gone. It may not be a good place if... More

I had heard about this restaurant from a friend, saying it was one of the most well-known and upscale steakhouses in Raliegh. While the barn-like atmosphere was charming and different, the food wasn't much to write home about. The meat was average at best: mine was even overcooked from what I wanted. In comparison to my meals at steakhouses like... More

I went there 30 years ago, loved it and never forgot this place. I took my son here last spring when we visited UNC-Chapel Hill. He loved it, too. There are other great steak houses across the country (such as Bones here in Atlanta) that serve slightly better red meat, but they all are a la carte, and thus at... More

We had an early dinner on a Sunday at the Angus Barn. The main dining area did not open until 5:00pm, but the bar area was open for dining at 3:00pm, so we ate at the bar. The atmosphere and decorations were awsome, but the food was spectacular - the best steak I have had in years ! The bartender... More

Crab cakes, wine and cheese, salmon, salads, wine, and, of course, steaks. With a name like the Angus Barn, I expected to be underwhelmed by anything other than red meat. But their full menu is worth trying. The staff and the atmosphere of the place made for an excellent evening. Pardon the pun, but 'Well-done' (or medium-well, if you prefer).

Went here a couple of times, mostly for celebratory events. Don't go regularly because the prices are really high. Food, however, is really good. They make a great steak, portions are large and all the items around it are well done. Food is classic fare, nothing really unusual. Setting is a very large old barn, lots of wood, big beams,... Angus Barn has been a Raleigh legend for decades. On an interview trip, it was the first place I ever had dinner in Raleigh. Have been there several times over the years, when someone else is paying. The setting is nice, very homey, good service, and good steaks. However, the food is not worth the incredibly high prices. Better steaks... More

Usually known for big steak dinners, I have an alternative for you. Instead of just starting the meal with a drink upstairs in The Wild Turkey Lounge, I would suggest making that the entire meal there. What surprised me the last time I was there was the grilled chicken sandwich. I had it blackened and it was fantastic. While I... More
