This was a great restaurant with outstanding service. From "bar food" to light salads, everyone at our table found something they were looking for.

This used to be a special place, but it has gotten a little stale. The food is good, but the menu hasn't been updated in quite a while. The selection of spirits is excellent, but it hasn't kept pace as a restaurant.
A wonderful place for lunch in downtown Hickory, but be forewarned, it can get very busy. If you are a party of two, there is usually room at the high tables in the bar. For a large party (6+) you may have a wait. Food is good and plentiful; try the day's special.
Craft beer selection is really interesting. Service was excellent. Although it is primarily pub food, the burgers were some of the best we have ever had and the prices were very reasonable. Comfortable seating, dark wood décor and attractive bar area. Looks like a locals favorite.
LOTS of beers. They had 20 on tap when I was there, including a wide variety of IPAs, stouts, ales, lagers, weiss beers...you name it. And you can order samples of any tap you want for a very reasonable price. Surprisingly good food. I was just expecting typical bar food, but it was way better than that. I had the...

Ok... so they do this cool thing where you can "own" a stein! You go... give them your number... you drink! Ok... for the rest of us who don't have our own the staff is a lot of fun and they know how to make a slammin sandwich! I've been there a hundred times and never been disappointed!
This is a nice casual restaurant. Kind of like a TGIF, but with an extensive selection of craft beers on tap. They feature, of course, Olde Hickory beer. I tried many of the beers, but my favorites are Dealth by Hops and the Black Raven IPA. The bartender was friendly and attentive. She suggested mixing the Death by Hops and...

This pub not only has around 100 beers available, they've also got really good food - steaks, seafood and more. I've been here many times during business trips to Hickory and have enjoyed dining here every time. Be sure to try their local brews and ask the waitress for the daily beer menu.
The beer is crazy good if you are into micro-brews. The food was fine with great service; helpful waiters. The restaurant was very busy on a weeknight, which is a good sign. Casual, relaxed atmosphere...people were dressed in everything from sportwear to business casual. Restaurant is located in the downtown Union Square area with local boutiques...very quaint area.
As soon as we walked in the door there was a feeling of dismay. It was very unwelcoming and depressing. The two bar tenders seemed to be mad at each other. It took forever for either of them to wait on us, and even longer to get a check.
The server held the glass by the lip and filled it...
